Star Trek: The Next Generation: All Good Things... (1994)
A Good Way to Say Goodbye... to the TV show anyway
Wow, what great twists and turns through the storyline. Jumping from the first TNG episode to the future and of course Q is involved.
It was great to see how it can twist the time line into reverse and keep you guessing right along to the end, as in true Star Trek style. It finished neatly with the Captain joining into a card game, something he had never done in any other episode, and of course, the Enterprise D sails off into the 'sunset'.
In a way, you sort of wish that the final episode said goodbye to TNG as it appears Voyager has done. However, I do appricate the later films in their quality and they just pick up the life of the crew of the Enterprise.
May Star Trek live long and prosper.
The Sound of Music (1965)
Get the DVD and listen to Robert Wise's comments
Watching this movie when I was a young boy still impressed me. I never became a fan of any other musicals of the time, but this film has a good solid story based on truth. It was shot beautifully in both locations and sets.
I appreciated even more when I got the double DVD. It was a great film to watch, but then when you listen to Mr Wise's commentary on how the film came together, you really appricate movie making of the 1960's.
The casting was excellent. Even for a long movie I never fell asleep which I normal do for films over 120 minutes.
There will never be a movie like this again due to the style of the times and will live in my archives forever. Well done!
Tiptoes (2002)
It was only fair, script slowed it down too much.
It started off interesting. A movie that treads in areas that has not really been touched in the past and that is dealing with dwarfs or "little people". It sort of gave an insight of these peoples types of lives.
The cast was very good, but the script drew out a bit. I wasn't sure if it was to be a light comedy or it was suppose to be serious.
I was a bit concerned about the Gary's role as a dwarf, he played the role well but he still didn't look like a dwarf.
The script let down the actors a bit which is a bit sad but it the basis was an interesting storyline.
