The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Slowly getting better each episode?
I didn't like the first 2 episodes. I thought they were kind of boring, with too many wordy monologues from Galadrial and company. There were too many characters to introduce, and none of them were really compelling or likeable.
I think things have improved slightly with episodes as we get the character introductions out of the way and start moving the plot along at a snails pace.
My least favorite storyline of the show is still Galadrial and her "exploits". She is definitely a Mary Sue character. I'm also not a big fan of the Harfoots. When the story focuses on Elrond and the dwarves, and what's going on in the Southlands, it's almost to the point of being enjoyable. Although even in those plotlines there are still writing choices that make me roll my eyes ...
Here's hoping things continue to improve from what was a disastrous start.

Overall Good, but with some troubling dialogue ...
Overall this is an entertaining movie for children, however some of the dialogue is a little weird/troubling for a kids movie. Some examples, they talk about a skunk character "plugging themselves", and they have some additional reaction to that. Another example is the use of the word "masochist" at the end of the movie. There are other moments like this in the film as well that just seem out of place, so I had to knock off a couple stars in my rating.

Great Start, Can't Wait to See More ...
My wife and I watched the first 2 episodes tonight. This is appears to be a really top notch Science Fiction series.
We've never read the books, I understand from other comments that they've made some changes that has made some angry. I can understand that, I've felt that way about other series and films too. But as a couple coming in without any preconceived notions this is a really epic and interesting sci-fi show so far.
It can get a bit wordy sometimes, but each episode ends with a bang so far, and really keeps you wanting to know where the story is going to next.
Can't wait to watch more.
Motherland: Fort Salem (2020)
Pretty Good Show ...
You know how they like to push strong female characters on us, but they always do it in an incredibly forced, cliched, or woke way? Ya, I hate that too.
This show is definitely all about women, barely any men in it at all. There's even a lesbian. But you know what, this is how it should be done. Original story, natural and real characters.
Maybe the entertainment industry is finally smartening up to what people have been complaining about for years. Good work, I'm watching more of this.

We turned It Off After 15 minutes
My wife and I are in our 30s/40s with a couple kids of our own. We watched 15 minutes and mutually agreed this one wasn't for us. We put on Game Night instead, now that movie was right up our alley.
The Christmas Chronicles (2018)
Great Christmas Movie
My 3 year old daughter sat there and watched the whole thing, she was really into it and was shouting out her concern for Santa and his Reindeer throughout. It held my attention too.
This is a really solid and entertaining family movie. Highly Recommended.
The Dragon Prince (2018)
My 3 year old girl loves it ...
When your 3 year old daughter repeatedly requests to watch a show that makes it very good in my books. It's kind of cool when the show is actually entertaining for parents too. She'll even say the word ''Xadia'', which is funnier than you'd think coming from a 3 year old, and also proves she's paying attention to the story!
We're looking forward to more episodes for sure.
