Law & Order: Last Dance (2024)
Best episode yet!
I've been watching L&O from the beginning and to me this is the best episode. It should have been called "Touché". When threatened always get the upper hand. When blackmailed always tell first. L&O has always been appealing to me because of its realistic nature. I even refer to events as having a "law & order" ending. Life happens & it's unpredictable & L&O always showed this from the beginning like not many other shows on TV. Sometimes you win, sometimes lose & sometimes you're just left standing there wondering what happened.
When the DA, Jack McCoy was threatened by the Mayor, he protected his staff, fell on his sword but came out on top. That's all I'll say. Watch it on Peacock & see if you agree😉
1945 (2017)
So much emotion in one movie
There are so many emotions with this movie. I like b/w movies, I like subtitled movies so this was very appealing. I had never heard of the actors or actresses and I liked that because if I see them again I have something to say "oh yeah, I remember that face. I'm trying to use all my required characters because I can sum th whole movie quite simply: Guilt. Accusation. Death. Sadness. Freedom, finally. There is no joy in this movie so if you're looking for "all's well that ends well" don't watch this. But, if you're a realist and know bad things happen sometimes to people who try to do the right thing eventually, this is the movie for you. I am of the latter so I loved it.
The Crickets Dance (2020)
Engrossing.
I didn't like the violence toward women, but that was the world then(it hasn't changed much in many countries). The slave scenes were triggering too (I could feel them) but that was the world then too but I LOVED the fact the N-word wasn't used. Absolutely lovely. Good on the author. Good on the production company.
The Courtship: First Impressions (2022)
First episode is promising & refreshing!!**
I am NOT a fan of reality TV especially the Bachelor/Bachlorette because they are so biased. The suitors on that show seem, from what I've seen, to be undisciplined and uncouth. I really liked this show because the suitors had to practice at being "gentlemen" of a bygone era. Calligraphy, bowing, dignity and respect even for a moment. What's a gentleman? Google it.
Ryôri no tetsujin (1993)
THE WAY ALL COOKING SHOWS SHOULD BE!!🤣😁😃
This show, as you've read, is the best thing happening, at least for me. I've been reintroduced on Redbox. It's nostalgia TV. It's clean, fun, FUNNY and might make you want to try something new. The sub-titles are hilarious and I adore the commentator. Take a break from drama, violence and TVMA. Sit down, relax & laugh 😃!!
