I am a film producer, director and distributor. I was born in Pescara (Abruzzo, Italy) in 1994 and I currently live in Rome, where I graduated cum laude in 2016 in Modern Literature with the thesis “Virtual reality and image culture in the civilization of entertainment”. I founded my publishing house and production company called Il Varco and produced 23 short films, 4 feature films and the edition of 11 books. I’m the artistic director of Il Varco – International Short Film Festival, Italy. I also founded the monthly screening Short Days in Rome and the Abruzzi’s film screening “New Abruzzi Cinema” in Pescara and the film distribution Gargantua Film. My film productions were featured in more than 120 festivals all around the world. As a director, I shot “Materia Celeste” in 2019 and “Polepole” in 2021. In 2020 I worked alongside Werner Herzog for his film Accelerator in Leticia, Colombia, in which I developed the filmed correspondence “Letters to Herzog” and the short film “Flores del precipicio“. I have been selected among the finalists of Premio Zavattini 2021/2022. In 2022 I presented “Happy New Year, Jim“, shot entirely inside videogames and produced by Nieminen film and Naffintusi at the 54. Quinzaine des Réalisateurs during Cannes 2022. In 2023 I participated in Locarno Spring Academy with Radu Jude where I made my film “Eschaton Ad“. In august 2023 I studied with Apichatpong Weerasethakul in his workshop in Yucatan, Mexico.

A future auteur's work of silence.

On the border is a delicate, sober and well directed work on silence and border. Minimal and with a great cinematography, it leaves the spectator with a constant role of imagination and creative approach to vision.

It's unusual, but really fundamental, to see Palestinian stories represented on the screen. Bonboné does it with great direction and cinematography.
