Nobody (2021)
A tortoise of an action move that you have seen before
A movie like this, does not really deserve a proper review, all what you need to do is cover the basics.
The start of the movie starts at the pace of a tortoise, and slowly get's faster in the middle and towards the end.
The violence is reasonably extreme, however nothing that you have not seen before in movies such as John Wick. Kill Bill, Rambo etc.
A very average movie and nothing to write home about, it looked a lot better on the trailer than it does in the whole film.
Greenland (2020)
A DISASTER disaster movie
Avoid at all costs. Overhyped and with a biggish star as well. The Sy Fy channel produces better disaster movies than this is. Sharknado is ten times better than this and that is saying something. I love the genre and have watched loads of end the World before, and this really is the worse going.
Stargate SG-1 (1997)
It would have been 10 out of 10
I am for the first time watching the end of Stargate SG1 in 2020, I am watching season nine and so far episode four.
I HATE IT.
Why oh why did they not end with season 08 but to come back with season 09 and most of the original cast members gone without any form of saying where they went to is really bad.
Yes they did cover that briefly in episode one, but this was poorly done.
An excellent show ruined.
Impractical Jokers: The Movie (2020)
Where are the laughs?
I have watched a few youtube clips and I was expecting this movie to be funny. I fell asleep. I have been to funnier funerals.
Gemini Man (2019)
Totally unrealistic even for an action flick
Action flick, turn your brain off and enjoy the action. However, I am ex forces and seeing an old will smith sniping a moving train and getting a kill shot is far too fetched for me. I will not going on about the bad cgi during action scenes, how Will was in a press up position and then leaps three feet into the air etc.
If this is Hollywood's job of putting a final nail in his acting career coffin, they have certainly done a very good job.
Independence day was more believable than this pile of rubbish.
Charlie's Angels (2019)
Another politically correct reboot
I honestly fell asleep watching this, first I hated the fact that it had gone politically correct. The second thing that I hated was that it did not feel like a Charlies angels movie. At least the first two movies were proper Angels, this fell flat on it's face.
Men in Black: International (2019)
Not as bad as I was expecting
The first thing that people are going to notice is that Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones is not in the movie. Which is what they are going to hate, and which is why they do not give a more fairer review.
However, I am giving this a fair review, although not the same without the famous duo, but with an organisation such as MIB, there are bound to be a lot of other agents that you can focus upon, to which this movie has done.
Will Smith is not employable any more, Hollywood have shut the door on him and his family, and now the only jobs that he can do, are Netflix movies and Youtube.
If you have not watched this already, then watch it with an open mind, and do not compare it to the originals, because that is just not fair, and will ruin your enjoyment of this movie.
Station 19: For Whom the Bell Tolls (2019)
Powerful for the reasons below
I am going to speak about things in the UK. I am ex forces and when millions marched across the World to stop Gulf 2, the Governments never listened, and went to war anyway.
We suddenly had a charity spring up called help for hero's which was focused on the armed forces.
In the UK, we never thank the Police, the Fire Service, nor the Ambulance to name but three services for the daily duty where they rush into situations, where they know very little about the situation at hand.
We in the forces, at least know if we are at war, then it is dangerous.
We certainly did not put on a uniform to get any thanks, but if you are going to thank a member of the armed forces, also be kind to the police, the ambulance, the fire service, as they put their lives on the line to.
We are all brothers and sisters when we put on a uniform, no matter if we are military or civilian service.
God bless the fallen.
Prison Break (2005)
Excellent drama, why did it take me 14 years to watch this?
Ok so I am 14 years too late, but I am here now. I am currently on the first season and episode 7 has just started. I signed up for a free trial to a video streaming service and this was the best that they had to offer. I did not know what to expect from this, but so far I am impressed. It is shocking to see them look so young, especially after seeing their older versions first.
This is Prisoner Cell Block H but on steroids.
The Orville (2017)
I love and hate it
When I first heard that Seth was producing a space show, I thought that it would be like space balls. However, I was very much mistaken.
The comedy is not in your face, but it is all at the same time. It is like being slapped and then kissed, you just do not know what is going on.
I wish that this had gone one way or another, as although I have rated this as a seven star, I want to give it a lower rating all at the same time.
By one way or another I mean, that I either wanted this to be a total comedy, or a total serious sci fi show. I think that if they had gone for a serious sci fi show, this could have been as good as star trek, as I think that the characters could be serious enough to have done the job. Infact, I would have loved to have seen them as the crew in star trek in some part of the timeline.
I have downgraded my 7 to a 6, as the more I think about this being so mixed and not one or the other, it kind of annoys me.
The Orville: The Road Not Taken (2019)
Very CONFUSING!!!!!!
Ok let's start off with why the previous episode was not called the road not taken 1? I had to come here to make sure that I had not missed an episode as it jumps more than an episode of star trek does.
When you get over your confusion then the episode is great, a nod to star wars, and star trek (confusing timeline jump) all at the same time.
The Enemy Within (2019)
An explosive first episode
A TV show or movie should be like a book, the first chapter makes you want to read more.
The first two minutes of this show has made me want to watch more, and the whole pilot episode made me want more.
A great show if you are into FBI related shows.
Supergirl: What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way? (2019)
One star because of the rubbish British accent
An american trying to do an English accent and failing big time. We have plenty of actors in the UK who would have done a much better job.
Doom Patrol (2019)
Not my cup of tea, one too many super hero tv shows
This is one super hero tv show that has broke the camel's back, or should I say donkeys back.
It is a miss mash of TV shows such as Eerie Indiana to think of one show. I have watched two episodes so far, and still have one to watch, but watching this is like trying to swallow a glass full of razor blades.
I cannot see this going for long and shall look forward to it being cancelled.
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
An enjoyable watch despite some bad reviews
Firstly, WOW I am shocked reading some of the bad reviews. I dare say that these people are die hard trekies, that have the PJ's, the lunchbox, and have never left home.
I personally find the show entertaining to watch, all be it a bit confused as to the time lines, this was set 10 years before Kirk and how ever many years before Star Trek Voyager etc and yet the technology seems more modern that it did in other shows.
The show is kind of politically correct which is always a bad thing, as it is brain washing people into thinking that what they are allowing now such as gay characters etc is normal. After 50 odd years to suddenly bring same gender relationships in my eyes is wrong, especially when Children may watch this.
Glad to see Star Trek back anyway on our screens, already picked up for season 03 so hopefully we might have a long run with this show.
The Orville for me, just does not cut it, and sadly no other TV shows on that comes into the Sci Fi genre.
Hopefully one day, they might bring Stargate back.
Creed II (2018)
Another copy cat movie
If you have seen Rocky IV then you have seen this. It is the same drama, just different wording.
Another failed creed movie simply because it is a copycat of the original Rocky movies.
Blue Bloods (2010)
Well worth a 10 star rating
Ok so I grew up in the 80's and loved him as Magnum. Tom Selleck is still the man, albeit chubbier and old.
The cast is wonderful, the warmth of the family setting, the way that each character get's screen time either per episode or at least once every other episode.
This has to be the best cop TV show since Hill Street Blues and that is giving some credit here.
I had never seen this show, and then I binged watched the first four or five series and then I was in love.
If I could have anything, even just for once, please give it the beautiful theme tune that was Hill Street Blues, and I would be wanting marshmallows and hot chocolate.
Arrow: Emerald Archer (2019)
What the ????
I for one hate this episode, it just does not make any sense at all. A documentary following the green arrow, and they are allowed into argus.
Is argus not supposed to be a top secret organisation? Yet they let in a film crew? One character mentioning top secret satellites and then taking back what he said.
The whole episode makes no sense at all, and I am finding it hard to get through this episode, I am literally pausing and doing something more interesting to fight the boardem.
I cannot see how other people have rated this so highly. they must be super nerds.
Hunter Killer (2018)
An enjoyablish watch
Firstly, if you are expecting this movie to be up to par with the likes of The hunt for red October or crimson tide, then sadly you need to think again.
You would compare this more to the movie Battleships, which is a turn off your mind mode and just go with the flow.
You have brief bits of worthwhile drama, and some action, but pretty much it is not really packed in either. The drama with Gerald Butler is as you would expect, a bit hard to swallow, I am not sure as to why he still gets roles.
The plot as a whole, is pretty hard to swallow as well, it is more of an action flick, rather than drama based, even though the action is pretty lacking and is a bit laughable when it happens such as when bullets are fired into the water, and they carried on as if fired into the air, bullets just do not act like that when fired into water.
You could knock this movie all night really, and judging by the goofs and others section, this has a lot of incorrectness just for effect thrown in.
A 6.5 more so than a 6, but not a movie that I would pay top dollar for.
Lethal Weapon: Bali (2018)
The end is nigh
I have to kind of agree with the other review saying that this is just like any other cop show now, the show has defiantly changed as we all knew that it would following Clayton's sacking.
However, with the now main remaining character leaving at the end of the show, what will this actually mean in the future?
I cannot see Cole and the new girl being enough to keep the show open. I think tonight you see more of Stiffler (American Pie movie) than you have before, even though I know that he has always been there, but tonight, it felt as if it was bigger.
As much as I love Sean, he has come in and done a pretty good job to shed his Stiffler skin, his acting is just not that deep, that he can switch off the goon, even his voice is just waiting to say something Stiffmisterish.
The more I type, the more that I realise that I do now miss Clayton, as much as I hated a Lethal Weapon show, but at least he was reasonably close to Riggs.
I just do think that this can or will carry on.
Lethal Weapon: In the Same Boat (2018)
Not too bad even with a new partner
I like many, was not sure, that this would work. However, watching the first episode, it actually was not that bad. I forgot stiffler was there, and instead gave his character a chance, and actually he is quite a bad ass.
All what I can say, is give this an objective view, and you might quite like it.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
A female Higgins? Oh no
I am sick and tired of these left wing idiots rewriting roles to suit the snowflake generation. You had no reason to make Higgins a female, now you know, something will happen between the characters, the very first episode has already shown that she has a soft spot for him, the way that she was looking at him before the funeral.
The new Magnum, is not a patch on the only Magnum, he is ok looking, but not as hansom as Tom Selleck was, and I am saying this as a straight male.
A not too bad first episode, and it was great that they kept the original music, rather than trying to update it in any way.
A note to the reviewers, it does help, if you take your heart from doing a review, we all know that Magnum, will never be as good as the original, and is unfair to compare it 100% to the original.
Shooter: Backroads (2018)
One TV show that should have been cancelled
I loved the first season, it was fast, action packed, and everything that the movie was. However, fast forward to season 02 and 03 the action has become a much more lower pace, and more drama has been inserted.
If I see any more flashbacks in a TV show, I am going to scream. I am trying to watch this episode, but I am stopping and starting just to break up the boredom.
I have seen better TV shows cancelled, so why hasn't this?
Supergirl: Battles Lost and Won (2018)
Action packed and emotional end of season
If there was an award, for the most emotional episode of the year award, for the end of season three, this would win it. I shall not include any spoilers, but if you have not had the chance to watch it yet, then make sure that you do.
The action was at max, as well as a lot of emotions, for a few of the characters. It also copied a bit of the original Superman movie, but in a different way.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Loved it but all too samey
What a great 10 show episode and of course you can see that season 02 is already on it's way.
However, as much as I loved this, I kind of feel disappointed that it is basically Karate Kid but in TV format.
Although I suppose that really, it should have been expected just to be a copycat show, but one great thing is that we see the past through both of their eyes, rather than just the main character.
We see that the so called bully, actually thought of himself as the victim, which has been a fan theory for many a year.
How this will pan out in Season 02 is anyone's guess, but with Cobra Kai's old karate instructor back on the scene, the then wimps, whom have started to be bullies, will become even worse now.
