World War Z (2013)
It could be so much better
A small thing I wrote may be a spoiler even though I wouldn't consider it so.
Though this movie had its good things they just can't save it and make us forget about the bad things.
Good:
- The special effects. They're very acceptable.
- The acting. Bradd Pitt appears in almost every scene and plays well his character even though we never really care about him (following words may be a spoiler) because he's like the hero and the scenes with him are very predictable so... we kinda realize he's "immortal" at some point. The rest of the actors also do a good job even if sometimes they're kind of dispensable.
Bad:
- The plot isn't interesting having in consideration the source material: the book that the movie was based on is a masterpiece but they totally ignored the book and with a title like this when I watched the movie I was expecting much more than what I got.
- There are several unrealistic scenes but I won't point them for I don't want to spoil the movie.
- The end of the movie: It's just terrible. I really hated it. Actually, the movie in itself was being acceptable, a lot of flaws, not the best movie of all time, but I was enjoying it. But then the end ruined it. Seems like they created the end just because the movie had to have one. I mean, the end of a movie can make us like it (the movie) even more or even less. This made me like it even less.
So, you can watch it but only if you don't have to spend money. It's not a masterpiece, not even a good movie. It's entertaining mainly for zombie movies fans. . I consider it an acceptable movie for the genre.
6/10
Real Playing Game (2013)
A failed attempt to make a Portuguese sci-fi movie. Portugal has to keep trying but not with this quality.
This attempt by Tino Navarro and David Rebordão to make a Portuguese sci-fi movie didn't go well.
The acting is bad. I've seen worse but in general it is bad. Some actors did well but not enough to save the movie.
The plot is simple. 10 old people pay to have their minds transfered to a new body to play a 10 hour game in which they fight for the chance to be young as long as they can. At each hour one of them has to die. This could be a good movie, but it missed the "good" part.
I didn't care for the characters! At all! I hate movies where I don't feel anything. I felt nothing in this movie. The camera was always shaking! You get used to it but it's annoying. And the whole movie was too predictable. The end wasn't, but I didn't like it anyway. And the movie had some flaws. But I'm not gonna point them. Don't wanna spoil anything (not that there's anything to spoil but yeah)
My opinion: Bad movie. Don't waste your money. Watch it at home if you're curious but don't expect much.
2/10. Not 1/10 because I liked the movie idea but unfortunately I hated everything else.
We're the Millers (2013)
A good movie if you wanna laugh.
I knew this would be those type of movies which are so dumb that end up being funny. Well, this one was better than what I was expecting. I payed for it so I wanted it to be worth paying for. But it was more than that! The whole audience did enjoy the movie, me included. Some original funny scenes. Some scenes you will be expecting, like in most movies like this one. But some other scenes you won't be expecting at all and you'll definitely laugh hard. A simple plot, acceptable acting and loads of laughs is what you're gonna get if you watch "We're The Millers".
So, the movie is simple. Nothing extraordinary or brilliant but definitely a good movie if you wanna laugh.
