Arrow: Haunted (2015)
Great storyline, bad details!
The story just keeps getting better and better with the returning of Sarah, shedding some light on Diggle's brother, and a rather interesting message from Ray declaring that he's alive and in trouble.
But there are some minor details which seem to bug me more than they should, mainly because they could have easily been avoided. For instance around 15 minutes in, Sarah confronts Thea and asks in Arabic if she's the one who killed her by saying "Howwa Antee?" which translates to "is HE you?". It would only take a native Arabic speaker volunteer to clear out these sort of errors (and I did notice they have similar errors in the previous season especially when pronouncing the word "Ras-Al-Ghoul"). Furthermore, at around 24 minutes in, they believe that Sarah has a special connection to Thea and that's how she's able to track her. Though that doesn't really explain how Sarah mistakenly tracked and almost killed two other girls that look just like Thea.
So yeah, the plot line is getting more intense, more exciting, and seems like a lot of fun ahead. But I think it's the lack of attention to details is what separates Arrow from great shows like Breaking Bad and GoT etc..
9/10 for an overall decent entertaining episode.
True Detective: Omega Station (2015)
Horrible Writing
Yes, I get that and applaud the fact that they wanted to go for the realistic "unhappy" ending unlike season 1 where the "good guys" win over the "bad guys", but the way they did it was just horribly written: After killing the Russians and taking all the money Frank and Ray set off. Frank was driving happily away and suddenly Le Wild Mexicans appear out of no where. Ray is supposed to be a cop, he's supposed to know very simple truths. Leaving aside the fact that he has lots of money in his car and he's heading out on a boat, he is still a wanted fugitive, and he should know that the first thing the cops will do is keep an eye on his son in case he tries to contact him. While I do get why they wanted Frank and Ray killed, the plot seemed so forced it's just unrealistic.
