Maxton Hall - Die Welt zwischen uns (2024)
Totally hooked and waiting for S2!!!
Despite my scepticism, I loved it. Binge watched it over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the whole show.
The UK based German angle was a tad confusing but despite that it was super entertaining. I liked the cast, felt they embodied their roles really well and even though the story line resembles a number of other shows, it still hit the mark.
I hope they finish the story with another season so we can find out how it plays out. It would be good if the producers don't fall into the trap of thinking they need multiple seasons to tell the story.... It could be wrapped up in Season 2 and that would work.
The Gilded Age (2022)
Brilliant show!
This ticks all the boxes for those who love a corset!! What a great idea to showcase the changes in Fifth Avenue New York with the old vs the new money.
Similar to Bridgerton, it places a different spin on the era. Even though it sticks to the traditions in terms of music, there is an air of modern that flows through the show. Assuming the information is accurate, it was very interesting to see the birth of The Metropolitan. Gives New York a whole new perspective for those of us who did not have a lot of knowledge previously.
Excellent cast and the costumes are to die for! Cannot wait for S3!!!
Moon Knight (2022)
Tedious at best
Struggling to engage with Steven/Mark. Finding the character and the narrative weak. Storyline very drawn out and no buy in plus dialogue almost laughable at times. Only sticking with it because my 13yo is keen to see it through.
Goliath (2016)
Don't waste your time with season 2!
Season 2 had so much promise and then ..... disaster! At one point I had to check I was still watching the right show cos nothing made sense.
The Witcher (2019)
Cavill in a whole new light!
Love this show! Don't know the game, haven't read the books but great characters, compelling storyline and as for Cavill.....brilliant!! He's so different to all the other characters he's played, it's refreshing and ironically has quite a bit of humour.
Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)
Disappointing in casting
Still amazed that out of all the actors in the world, they couldn't cast dwarves as dwarves. Disappoints my son every time he sees the movie (he has dwarfism).
