David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet (2020)
Attenborough's witness statement
Any nature fans "must watch"
Calling the film (streaming on Netflix) his "witness statement" for the environment, David Attenborough goes on to trace his more than 60-year career as a naturalist, mapping how steeply the planet's biodiversity has degenerated before him. Global air travel was new when he began his work, and footage of him as a young producer encountering exotic flora and fauna lends a moving, even haunting, note to his plea to restore ecological balance.
We can turn this around.
Joker (2019)
The perfect Villain, or is he?
This is the first movie of the year that has me wowed.
Definitely the greatest performance of the year and front runner for the Oscar. Nobody comes close so far.
This is not a movie for everybody, but it's definitely not going to be forgettable.
DC can do things Marvel can't and this movie beats any Marvel film hands down.
Bravo Todd Phillips
The Lion King (2019)
Brilliant Remake and Awesome family film
I only watched this last night and Im seeing all the poor reviews.
I have watched a lot of movies and I totally loved this remake.
People complaining its exactly like the original, that's exactly what Jon Favreau wanted. he didn't wanna spoil the classic and keep it in its original story.
I was kept entertained from start to finish and enjoyed the 90's nostalgia in all the music and familiar scenes. The voice cast was probably the best I've heard. The original is still King but this was a fun ride. don't be so critical. Peace
Patrick Melrose (2018)
Best Show of the Year!!!
If you are looking for something exciting, something different, something with great acting and a great cast. Then this is the show for you. Not everyone is going to understand this masterpiece and thats fine. Cumberbatch is Phenomenal. Flawless acting that is gripping and hard hitting. I couldn't wait each week for each episode.
I have never read the books and wish there was more than just 5 episodes.
Definitely worth checking out.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Greatest Film of all time!!!
This is a Hollywood Masterpiece. Undoubtedly the greatest film of all time. Flawless and perfectly acted. If you haven't seen this one "Watch it immediately"
The Shawshank Redemption is a 1994 American drama film written and directed by Frank Darabont, and starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Adapted from the Stephen King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, the film tells the story of Andy Dufresne, a banker who is sentenced to life in Shawshank State Penitentiary for the murder of his wife and her lover, despite his claims of innocence. During his time at the prison, he befriends a fellow inmate, Ellis Boyd "Red" Redding, and finds himself protected by the guards after the warden begins using him in his money-laundering operation.
Although the film was a box office disappointment, it received multiple award nominations (including seven Oscar nominations) and highly positive reviews from critics for its acting, story, and realism. It is now considered to be one of the greatest films of the 1990s. It has since been successful on cable television, VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray. It was included in the American Film Institute's 100 Years...100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition).
In 2015, the United States Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the National Film Registry, finding it "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant"
