Destroyer (2018)
Glad I gave it a chance.
With all the bad reviews I was expecting a bad movie but a bad movie it is not, I totally enjoyed it. Yes, there are flaws. One important scene of a certain character's death could have been written much better because the whole plot of the movie revolves from there. Watch it and you'll see what I mean.
Kidman is amazing as usually, but her performance is really tainted by the awful "aged" makeup she has through the movie, it is very difficult to take her seriously sometimes because of this. Don't believe me? Just look at one of the posters or screenshots in IMDB, it will probably put you off from watching this completely, but if you can get by that, you should find yourself enjoying the ride..
The Last: Naruto the Movie (2014)
A must watch if you're a fan of Naruto Shippuden
This is the ending act of the Naruto Shippuden, it was released in 2014 because the manga's ended in 2014, whiles the anime series ended in 2017.
Although it doesn't spoil the actual story of the anime/manga series, it starts off right after climax at the end of the Fourth Ninja War, so be wary if you're still in the middle of the series, I highly recommend watching this after the said events.
The film is mainly about the romance between Naruto and Hinata, with plenty of actions faithful to the original story, the good thing is, it feels like a canon rather than a filler which is rare for side stories like this. If you have been following the Naruto's story, you should know that Hinata's love was never answered and it almost seem one sided, how the series ended with Naruto getting married almost made no sense. This movie filled the gap and had all the questions answered.
To sum it up, it's a great story, with plenty of actions and a lot of fan services. However, it may not be a film to watch for people who have never read or watched Naruto because it is what it is, an expanded ending act and the fans should not be disappointed.
Death Note: Desu nôto (2015)
a wasted potential.
The 2 featured films were great, but many plot device from the manga/anime had to be omitted due to the limited screen time. One would hope the missing pieces would finally be delivered in live- action by this drama series. Nope, instead, what we get is a story that has been dumbed down story even further.
The incredible detective L Lawliet, now has nearly everything spelled out to him by chances instead of actually figuring things out with his almighty detective skills.
The self-centered badass, Yagami Light is now a whiny cry baby and an otaku-fan of Misa-Misa.
Amane Misa, who was a superstar, now has concert on a tiny stage, and is basically an idiot. Believe it or not, she actually uses her brain in the manga/anime to figure out who Kira is, again, not by chances.
Near, who is supposedly an incredible detective, and portrayed to be even more intelligent than L himself and solved the Kira case on his own in the original story. Now serve only as a puppet, following clues that L layed out for him. I don't mind they merged Melo(who is a completely different character, and a genius on his own), but it's really bad how this merged character is written.
To sum up my review, the series feels like a low budget and dumbed down version of the incredible story. Don't waste your time on these episodes. Watch the first two featured films if you want a well summarized story of the original Death Note, these films also portrays the characters much better, better yet, read the manga or watch the anime series if you enjoy those.
