X (2022)
Could have been so much better!
Like the premise, had potential but average at best. The acting is great but the story and pace just don't work. TI West's You're Next is way more fun and House of the Devil is so much creepier and eerie and just a better overall horror movie.
After Midnight (2019)
Not for everyone, but I liked it.
This movie is just a quirky mash up of S##t. Is it horror? Comedy? Drama? Romance? Or Science fiction? Answer, all of the above. It is by no means great but I found it rather entertaining. Not for everyone but I liked it.
The Hunt (2020)
Fairly entertaining.
Not anything different or unique, has been many films with general plot. I definitely enjoyed the fact that they waisted no time getting the action started! I found it fairly entertaining, not for everyone lots of over the top violence. Probably not worth the cost of going out to the theatre, but worth a watch when it streams. I might have given it a 7 if they wouldn't have killed off Emma Roberts 12 minutes in.
El día de la bestia (1995)
Why no blu ray available for this classic!!!!
Why this movie doesn't get more recognition I have no clue. It is everything a great horror movie should be! I rented on VHS in 1998 not have any idea what is in for! And Wow, it is just a dark, twisted, bizarre film! If you like unique one of kind films this is for you!
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018)
First Black Mirror I didn't care for.
Up until this point there wasn't an episode of Black Mirror I didn't like. Yes some episodes are better than others but overall they are very well done. This one however just seemed slow, uninteresting, and at times downright boring. Maybe the bar was set to high by previous episodes and I was expecting more. It is not terrible but it just didn't seem to capture what has made Black Mirror so great.
The Punisher (2017)
The best Marvel yet!
Iron fist, not so good. Luke Cage, a little better. Daredevil and Jessica Jones, pretty damn good. But all hail the Punisher! There aren't enough words to describe how great this show is! Gritty, violent, dramatic, and well acted. Action packed and pulls no punches! It delivers and then some. Just watch it!
Busanhaeng (2016)
Holy S##t!
WOW! This movie delivers! One of the best horror let alone Zombie films ever! Great acting, great story, great effects, What a ride! No messing around 15 minutes in and all hell breaks loose, and doesn't stop! Glad I stumbled on to this one, what a gem! In a time where there is a different Zombie movie or show coming out all the time, this one definitely stands out, just watch it!
The Green Inferno (2013)
Gore and a little more.
Read some of the reviews and what did you people expect? Did you not see cabin fever or hostle? This movie is pretty much what I expected an average horror movie with over the top gore and violence. Not great but fairly entertaining. The scenery is beautiful. Could have been better but still worth the watch.
The Last American Virgin (1982)
Just great!
I remember being 13 and going to the drive in to see this movie with my friend and his 16 year old brother who had just got his license as well as two other friends. We piled into his moms Ford LTD and headed out. It was august of 1982 and we had actually went to see Tootsie as the feature and Virgin as the encore. We were not going to stay for Virgin after Tootsie but I am glad we did! By far the best the teenage coming of age flick you have never heard of. Funny, raunchy, and full of inappropriate humor and nudity! But unlike other teen comedies of that era such as Porky's etc. It had more to it. A little something special. Maybe it was the characters, the story, or perhaps the more serious tone the film takes the last 30 min. I remember leaving the drive in thinking the ending was messed up comedies are not suppose to end like that! Then I seen the movie about 7 years later, on VHS. I was 20 then with my own apartment, and having been through a couple relationships and fresh out of my teens the movie was even better! The Last American Virgin just seems to epitomize what it is really like to be a teen. Hanging with your friends, chasing girls, relationships, sex, High school. Oh yeah and broken hearts! There maybe be more well known teenage comedies of 80's, but none quite like this!
