The Vicar of Dibley (1994)
A Weak Attempt at Religious Satire
I know a lot of people loved this show as it was ranked in the top three of all British comedy shows, however to me the show lacks any substance and the characters are all pale stereotypes from the seventies.
Now the premise for the show isn't bad, a liberal woman coming to a backwoods village as the new minister to the shock and disgust of the people of the town could be funny and for some of the early episodes it wasn't terrible. However as a series it went long enough and after two series it really was enough, hell one would have been okay.
The major problem though is they make Dawn French too strong and surround her with weak characters who aren't interesting who go from being just boring too being way too eccentric and lacks all meaning. Also they all are bad caricatures and utterly clique that I just role my eyes whenever I tried to watch this show.
Also I fail to see what this show is even trying to say are they trying to mock the Church of England for being backwards and not able to change or are they just mocking people who live in small English towns as being near retarded and unable to function in any way shape or form. Or is it that really the show is saying that all though Vicar Granger for her liberal, modern values is just as dumb as the townspeople, either way it doesn't carry my attention and doesn't deserve the acclaim it gets.
Escape from It's a Wonderful Life (1996)
Hilarious Edit of a Christmas Classic!
From the creators of on of the greatest sketch shows of all times, Upright Citizens Brigade, comes Escape From it a Wonderful life. This is hilarious! A lot of the points about this movie being played way too much is always something I thought of and it grated on me! God how many times can they play that god damn sappy movie and in this TV mini-movie George Bailey agrees. Replacing the voices of the main characters from the movie are voiced by Jay Martel (George Bailey) and the UCB. I just loved the fact that Bailey wanted to get out of the movie and how well the soundtrack they recorded fit in the movie just really perfect and a very good attempt at showing how lame TV producers truly are, Really I hope more people could find this I bet everyone would find it funny.
Uchû Kaisokusen (1961)
The Worst Movie Ever Made
There are tons of bad movies but try watching Invasion of the Neptune Men it's so bad it makes my head hurt thinking about it. I t was so bad! The MST3000 cast couldn't even stand it thats how bad it was. I mean how many times could you watch the same crap being blown up, I mean it was funny when they blew up the Hitler statue once but five times is repetitive and stupid. The dubbing was like hearing a nail being scrapped against a chalkboard for eighty minutes! There was no hero space chief(really Prince of Space) was absent for the whole movie (along with his lame chops) and the villains are dumb and absent minded. Turning clocks back to conquer the earth! The so called invasion that lasted for about twenty to thirty minutes was so painful with about five minutes of stock footage continually repeating. I can withstand a lot of crap but this broke me and I questioned the point in living and came to the conclusion that there is no God since God would not have let this movie exist, it's worse than Manos or Monter A-Go-Go which is the only accomplishment this film has made. You cannot even call this a film I truly believe it was really designed as a torture devise(as in A Clockwork orange) for captured Chinese and North Korean communists. So in conclusion until you've seen "Neptune Men" the other movies people mentioned are definitely bad movies but they could be laughed at get some amusement out of them (Gigli, Battlefield, Got Served, and all the Billy Jack's) but these is absolute pain and I now know what movie is playing in Hell. It is one and only one movie, "The Invasion of the Neptune Men".
Ps- Interesting side note the actor who played Space Chief was the great Sonny Chiba. although this is way before his excellent martial arts movies in the seventies and his legendary role on TV...Hantorri Haznzo.
