The Descent (2005)
Wat a pile of crap
i heard great things about this film by heaps of ppl, "one of the scariest movies ever" "well written" "they don't make horror movies like they used to, but the descent is one of the few that does" etc. so i was expecting something good, something i would be terrified at seeing, instead what i see is crap from start to finish. i don't want to say much in case it spoils to much but a bunch of females (who cant act btw)go into a cave (their adventurers or something) only to become stuck in the cave with no way out and to be found by a bunch of strange creatures who looks kind of like gollum from LotR only less scarier than that. what you get form then is cheap scares from this creature that i think even a 5 year old would laugh at, a few scenes trying to be "disgusting" when you see it eat the flesh of people/animals etc. and thats pretty much it. coupled with that retarded annoying Asian character (i forget her name) who thinks shes some warrior from the middle-ages, what you get from the descent is nothing more than pain and a stench that will take a few days to get rid of.
my advice, save yourself the time and money and don't get this film, the only reason is praised is probably because it may be original (i've never seen anything like it, even though the cave looks similar though i heard this came first).
Fainaru fantajî sebun adobento chirudoren (2005)
One of the best movies ever created, especially for the fans.
Bak when Final Fantasy 7 the game came was out, it was one of the best things of its time. Great characters, deep storyline and awesome music. But fans have been longing for a continuation of the story ever since the credits rolled, and Advent Children does that flawlessly. I'm not sure if you will like it if you never played the game, as there is way to much back story, character development etc. that happened in the game, but for fans or at least those who know the story, it is one of the best movies ever and a worthy sequel to a godly game. It starts of with a homage to the after credits scene in the game, and then goes "498 Years Ago", 2 years after the game ended. I will not go into details of the storyline, and anything i say here can be read in the synopsis on this site, but believe me when i say it is worthy enough for a sequel. It is however in the end an action movie, and thats where this movie shines. Some of the best choreography, that even if you don't know the game, watch it at least for the battles. they truly are a piece of art. the graphics are topnotch, everything moves flawlessly as it would in real life. and on top of all that, Cloud is back in all his coolness and glory :) so check it out, but for those who don't know the story, i'd wait for the English DVD and watch the extra "Reminscince" before watching the actual movie, it may explain quite a bit for you. 10/10
Kevin of the North (2001)
Very funny movie
This movie turned out to be really great after all, and reminded me of one thing, never LISTEN TO CRITICS. Skeet is excellent in it as the typical man who tries to much and always fails, but he's still very funny nonetheless. a great watch and family film(though a bit rude the young ones wouldn't wouldn't understand most of it.)Definitely worth a watch, especially for a Skeet fan. It starts out with Kevin(Skeet)working in a travel agency and he gets his grandfathers will where he must travel to Alask to earn his inheritance, and it all starts out from there. It'll make you laugh, cry and raise your voice. So as i said bore, don't listen to the other reviews, and go get yourself this DVD NOW!
