Ridiculous, viewers are much more intelligent than this LAME writing
9 March 2020
I don't know where to start. Except to say how dumb do writers think their viewers are? So this "bad guy" can make one phpne call and get people fired? Can start police investigations? Can ruin people's lives? Ahh-yep This one bad guy can ter down his pleasure room amd mudere room completely in an hour? Ah yep...We're smarter than that writers, start WRITING like we are. Thank you

Plodding, predictable, heavy, stereotypical why does everyone have to be crazy?
9 February 2020
Maybe I expected too much with such a great cast? Ok, I expected too much with such a great cast. A lot went unexplained until the last 5 minutes of the film. Which means you had to trudge through 148 minutes of innuendo, maybes, could have been, what were you thinking? I always wonder what actors think when they take a film and have not REALLY read the script, meaning EVERYONE ELSE'S part? You know what I think...PAYDAY. Jake G starts at 11+ and never waivers. His painfully predictable performance is "Zodiac lite". Hugh Jackman seemed to decide each day on set who he was "going to be" that day. Viola Davis was wasted. I would have loved to have seen her in Melissa Leo's role. Melissa Leo is hit or miss in her films, this was a miss. Again, I expected too much and ...I should have read a book or played catch with my dog instead.

5 for LaBeouf acting tour de force, an editor was desperately needed
9 February 2020
Once again Shia LaBeouf proves he is a force to be reckoned with as an actor. The problem with the film is that it was the same 3 scenes over and over again. This film could have used a keen "outsider's" eye to shape it better. I still recommend it, just don't expect a lot. Except a terrific performance. If anything, this film is vindication for LaBeouf's "troubles". He was facing horible odds as achild to NOT run into substance and mental problems. Hopefully, this film was cathartic for him and we can expect more terrific performance in the future.

Long, boring, dumb, skirting on ridiculous
28 January 2020
Do you really need me to write a review after that heading? I think not. You can skip this and thank me for the time I saved you from WASTING. I wish I could say the same for myself. What an insult on our intelligence. It hated women. It hated seniors. It hated love. Sole purpose, the ridiculous lemmings wanted to use women for baby makers...

Done and out...

Parasite (2019)

What happens AFTER you watch the film is very intriguing.
16 January 2020
So PARASITE...this film makes you think and laugh and gasp all in one scene. Part of me felt like a voyeur watching a film about the political and socio-economic problems in the Koreas. There was so much symbolism. The class struggles, the haves and have nots, the disparities, and "blindness" of the rich toward the underprivileged and disenchanted, forced to live underground. The"peeing man" for me, represented the Elvis loving crazy dictator, 45's favorite, potential button pushing maniac, he scares me. Kim Jong-un, who is reckless and careless and pees all over everyone anytime he pleases, yet no one can stop him...sound familiar? This film took satirical chances that we do not always take in American filmmaking. And with an unstable, murderer at the helm of a shaky ship in N. Korea that was bold, very bold. It went everywhere and took us on quite a journey. IMHO, I felt it went to crazy town once the Con Artist family made the underground discovery and then it just crashed through the ceiling at the party. BUT, it made me think and I was compelled to talk about it and wrestle with what I just watched after it was over. Isn't that what film is for?

Incessantly repetitious and a mess
2 June 2019
This film could have ended in 95 minutes, easily. I am not sure what this director/writer/producer's vision was because there WAS NOT ONE IOTA OF A CONCISE VISION. From start to finish, this film was a mess. The director/writer/producer decided to add as much meandering to such a thin plot to begin with and he thought he could "make it beeter" by adding more unnecessary scenes and more useless devices. I learned one thing frm watching this goulash of a film, films that are written/directed/produced by the same person NEED A BETTER EDITOR, one who has the guts to speak up and help salvage a film. I am stunned that Jeff Bridges, whom I respect and admire, stayed on board this disaster. Bridges had an amazing monologue mid-way, my guess is that is the ONLY reason he took this piece of drek in the first place. I am sparing you 2 hours and 21 minutes of painfilled nothingness.

One of the most ridiculous film I have EVER wasted my time on
28 May 2019
Horrendous. IF you want to make a #metoo film, let a FEMALE direct/write/producer\ it, or at least ONE of the above. This was a mish mosh of "hey kids let's make a movie!" It meandered, at times it made no sense, and led you in the wrong direction in a sophomorish ridiculous way. Oh, let's not forget the girl on gilr action, we need that NOT SO MUCH! Oh, and lest we forget the bathroom humor on a bus, no doubt a must for these so-called filmmakers. What the hell were they thinking? Let's figure out a way to put everything we can in the pot and hope it something palatable comes of it. Save your time, you could starve on this film.

Don't Waste Your Time
28 November 2018
I often wonder when I labor through a terrible film, who approved this? This film is plodding, incredibly pedestrian and predictable. You knew what was going to happen to one of the characters about eight minutes into the film. Unfortunately, I kept watching. I now wonder, was it morbid curiousity? Or was part of me waiting for it to get better? When did Jennifer Garner become such a raving, out of control lunatic? First this ridiculous portrayal, who knew what she was doing in this one and now the same unlikability in her character in Camping? It is not effective, it is just annoying.

If an actor is out of control and at 11 for the entire performance, where can they go? It just remains one note, not creative and definitely not watchable. There are so many problematic issues in the script and in the acting. ACTING 101, Don't play the problem, explore opposites. For God's sake, did you miss that day in class actors? Where have all the directors gone?

The biggest problem for me is that the "children", and I use that term very loosely, are too old to have the reaction that they did to their father's choices. If they had been 12 or 13, at the height of adolescense, I would have beleived the extreme reactions of the son. There was never a big enough reason for the son't reaction and spiral down, not really. They barely touched the surface and just assumed that we would "get it". I hate that. That is LAZY filmmaking/writing and acting. These "children" as coddled as they were and entitled with money, position and being spoiled rotten, were still on the edge of adulthood and in this day of expendable marriages, the divorce should have not been treated as such a travesty. It is what it is, money, entitlement and selfishness make people do things that hurt others, we get that...next. Sorry, hopefully I will help save a few hours in someone else's life, I wish I could get the hours back that I wasted watching this dreary, dull, diatribe.

So predictable and ho hum
17 April 2016
I was so angry that I wasted this time in my life, hoping this film would get better and make sense. You would think with Spielberg's DreamWorks attached that would have been a real possibility. However, I was left with an empty feeling of HOW DOES A FILM LIKE THIS GET MADE??? I figured this film out in the first 9 minutes and it never scared me, shocked me, surprised me or above all impressed me. It was plain predictable drek with so many devices being used one wonders what the "real screenplay" read like?

So disappointed. Spend your time more wisely and don't waste it on this piece of flotsam.

The Master (2012)

I lost 137 minutes of my life! I want them back!
18 November 2012
So you have those "moments" in life and as a filmmaker-- this one was a stinger. I saw THE MASTER last night trudging thru the pouring rain---and I was SO disappointed and outraged that a film like this was EVER made in the first place. Stellar director, stellar cast---Horrendous, thin, meaningless script/story--- badly in need of DIRECTION and better yet some skillful, consistent EDITING!! UGH! It was utter labor watching this piece of DREK!! What was the point? This was a story that NEVER needed to be told. Don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of Anderson (for There Will Be Blood) and the cast. But Joaquin's performance was so over the top, predictable, FORCED and painfully self indulgent...was there anyone home at ALL in this film?? Amy Adams as PSH's wife---really?? Terrible casting on that one. I am blaming a lot of the problems on the editing. They more than likely ---with this cast--- had 800 hours of footage and when it came to editing they forgot the most important part be true to the material and TELL THE STORY! There were gaps that were so blatant that it made my brain hurt. Naked women OK where did that fit in---editing--what was his "plan" hand job at the bathroom sink---HOW in all that is holy did that fit in?? Where did it come from??? (no pun intended). And the slow--excruciating (though I love Ella F.) PLODDING sound track ONLY made the movie DRAG EVEN MORE!! OK how do I really feel??? I braved driving in LA, at night in the pouring rain-- a life threatening situation to say the least and I will never get those 137 minutes of my life back. I watch films like this and wonder why was this film ever MADE??? Someone forget to tell the emperor he was NAKED..
