Bigfoot Family (2020)
What a load of garbage
Yeah...eco-hippie lies are almost as bad as Christian brainwashing.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2020)
The 1's are 10's because anything that sucks this badly is destined to be a cult classic
It blew. I tried. I watched it with an open mind. Didn't work. Watched it again with an altered mind. Still....nada.
....and I think Kevin Smith movies are masterpieces and Broken Lizard films are Oscar-worthy. That's how badly this steaming pile of a diaper fire is.
It'll probably go down in history as the biggest cult classic since Reefer Madness.
I'd ask for my money back but it was part of my subscription.
Small Town Gay Bar (2006)
Contrast
I can see where the message might be misinterpreted by the viewers. It's "normal" to have a gay culture in Vancouver or Toronto, however you see how folks in a small town in Mississippi are desperate to keep their one and only place to do something like hold hands with their partner without looking over their shoulder.
I grew up in a big city and now I live in a small town. I can say with certainty if a gay bar opened in rural Alberta there would be blood flowing in the street. Although everyone is folksy and nice and hospitable, I can guarantee a gay bar would go over like a pregnant pole vaulter.
Thanks for that insight, Malcolm. I only watched the movie because I'm a View Askew fanboy, but now I won't hesitate to share this gem with all of my non-VA friends as well.
Chasing Kevin (2000)
I'm not REALLY that bad, am I?
I watched this flick about 37 seconds ago and I am surprised at how well done this is considering it's an homage piece. Not overdone nor overacted. The filmmakers are obviously fans, and the dialog is very Kevin-esquire. I would recommend this film to any View Askew follower. I want to go to the Quick Stop like it's Mecca, so to see it in the film makes it the icing on the cake.
This film was a winner of the Long Island International Film Expo and I can see why. Great job and I look forward to more films from Randy and Scott; especially if they are follow-ups of the other "Jersey Trilogy" movies.
Clerks (1994)
A must-see for all Gen-X'ers
I'm 31 years old and I STILL watch Clerks at least once a year. It's a glimpse into my own past as well as a reminder to always remember where I came from. Kevin Smith is clever and insightful, as well as crude enough to keep us coming back for more. I recommend any of his films, as well as the Clerks Cartoon and Comic book. If you've ever watched "An Evening with Kevin Smith" and then went back to Clerks, you would see how much Kevin Smith has grown as a Director. I just wish we could see more of the same genre, rather than go to glitz and glamour. Clerks is simple and has no pretense, but people turn up their nose at any movie that doesn't have special effects, big names, and a 100 million dollar budget. Keep in mind Kevin Smith used credit cards and his comic book collection to finance this Cannes Film Festival winner. If you haven't seen it, give it a try.
