Mithya (2008)
very well made by rajat kapoor.
Mithya is a film with a different story and all together a very different concept. To see Ranvir Shorey in a double role of Vk and an underworld Rajebhai and he has performed exceptionally well.Neha Dhupia and naseeruddin shah are also really impressive.I have been a fan of naseeruddin shah and he is really god in the brief role he plays. Rajat Kapoor also an actor directed this film and its nice to see him making this film in a very nice and interesting way. The story of the film is very different and its after a very long time that I saw a film like this one. The film starts with about how a simple man VK (Ranvir Shorey)tries his best to really make a mark for himself in the film industry. while attempting to really prove his mettle VK the simple man get caught into the web of murky underworld politics. He is cleverly manipulated by Nasserudin shah, Shaurabh Shukla and their allies.the background music is wonderfully done. The film has dialogues from hamlet, which was intended for drawing parallel with a man who finally just becomes the pawn in the chess board.Mithya, is a wonderful and has great humor in it as well.Over all a good and with watching as well.
Faltu (2006)
Hats off to the production team for this brilliant film
Faltu is Anjan Das's superbly directed Bengali film. The film stars Yash Pandit,Manjari fadnis,Indrani Halder among the lead roles.Indrani is the mother of Faltu,a young boy played by Yash.Manjari is Faltu's girl friend in the picture. The story of the film is set around a village in West Bengal.A village where everyone is involved in something wrong. Its about their feeling of guilt, the regret. The film is also about Faltu's search for his father, about which no one in the village had any idea. The film, its story and the casting are all superb. There is nothing that could have been better in the film.Yash Pandit is particular awesome as Faltu. Its a landmark film in the world of Bengali Cinema. Its great to see such amazing films being made every now and then. Hats off to the production team for this brilliant film.
The Last Lear (2007)
Exceptional movie experience
I have seen The last lear last weekend and find that the movie is awesome.I usually go with bollywood movie but this time because of The Great Amitabh Bachchan and planman production i have watched the English movie and the movie is brilliant.I came up with a huge smile after watching the movie. The Last Lear will give you the chills, but in a good way. Each actor and actress have given justice to their roles and have made this an exceptional movie experience. It's so perfect and the segues are just right that you don't get time to notice any flaws, if any. On the whole, it's very evocative and is brilliance. I recommend that you watch it.
Rok Sako To Rok Lo (2004)
A must watch for youngsters in deep bond of friendship.
RSTRL is an awesome film for youngsters.I watched this film when I was in in school 3 years ago.Believe me,movies with such stories, irrespective of the casts, when watched with friends always leave a deep and long lasting impact. The film was directed by Arindam Chaudhuri and he has made a very nice and entertaining film for the youth. The story is that of friends, two different schools and the rivalry between certain group of students. It is a very nice movie and because of the fact that I watched it with my friends,i like it more and more. For me most of the things were good and the music was awesome.Jatin-Lalit always give melodious music and some of the songs in this film are also very good and melodious.Overall, rok sako to rok lo is a splendid film and a movie that all youngsters and school going youth will enjoy.
Do Dooni Chaar (2010)
'car'efully crafted charming cinema
Do Dooni Char comes as a breath of fresh air.The Duggal family is a happy family making ends meet in their middle class life until an odd situation inspires them to upgrade their vehicle from a scooter to a car. The father (Rishi) a school teacher believes they don't need a four wheeler. But when his college-going daughter plans to join a call-center to save money for paying off the EMIs for the vehicle, he tells his wife (Neetu) he won't disappoint his kids and buy a brand new car. The focus of the film is on dialog's between the characters that are simple, likable and very easy to relate to. This is 'car'efully crafted charming cinema. Do not miss Do Dooni Chaar!
I Am 24 (2010)
Good comic timing with lot of energy
The movie starts with Shubhendu Roy(Rajat Kapoor) around 40 years of age,a struggling writer trying to model himself on something between Ram and Raja.Shubhendu meets wannabe beauty queen Kanak (Manjari Fadnis) in an online chat-room, and overnight his life spirals into a 'web' of lies. He's suddenly a 24-year-old, writing films for the Chopras and Johars, with a six-pack,sex-appeal, and soccer stars like Maradona and Beckham for friends. With a bit of truth, a bit of lies, part spoof, part-real, Saurabh Shukla spins this romcom with witty one-liners,few hilarious scenes, good comic timing and a lot energy.Very funny movie and those who haven't seen, must watch the movie.
Dosar (2006)
Perfect example of excellent cinema
Dosar is the perfect example of excellent cinema.Directed by Rituparno Ghosh, the movie was produced by Planman Motion pictures. The cast of the film included Indrani halder and Prasenjit Chatterjee in the lead role of a married couple. The story is really nice and the way it has been made is simply tremendous.Hats off to director Rituparno Ghosh for the brilliant movie that he made. The most special thing about this film is that it was shot in black and white and not in color.Without the brilliance of Rituparno, this movie would not have been possible. Another major highlight of the film was the performance of the lead actors. Both are simply awesome in the movie. The story about how a husband cheats on his wife and how she comes to know about his extra marital affair is superb. But the way both have performed in the second half is something too good.Hats off to the three-Rituparno Ghosh,Prasenjit & Indrani for the lovely movie.
