Ojing-eo geim (2021)
The best Korean show I've seen
I came into this with high hopes being a fan of Korean and Asian cinema and was not disappointed. I wouldn't honestly put this up there with Train To Busan - it had the same level of character development - you genuinely care what happens to these characters. It also has a battle royale meets would you rather meets hostel vibe. Just don't watch it dubbed, stick with the original Korean and subtitles.
Slasher: Face Time (2021)
Possibly the best episode of the season
So far this season has proved it's one of the better ones - to me it's up there with season 2. This episode however was absolutely brilliant, from the twists - to the gore - to the snappy blackly comedic dialogue. Some episodes have weak dialogue (the series as a whole is great, just some scenes falter due to this), however this episode has some of the wittiest one liners. I will say I did call the twist during the first couple of episodes but if you've seen orphan you'll know!
Slasher: The Sins of the Father (2021)
Great start to the new season
I'm a huge fan of Slasher, it's one of the only gory, slasher series out there and is well done. Although the seasons are a mixed bag this season is already proving to be one of the better ones and I'm already excited for the next few episodes!
Fear Street: 1978 (2021)
Better than part 1!
I must admit I did enjoy part one, it wasn't anything amazing but it was a decent way to spend an hour and a half. After seeing part two however, I can say that it is a huge improvement and is now one of my favourite slasher movies! Ive read some reviews which state that the characters are unlikeable - I do have to agree that some of them started off that way but as the film progressed, I found myself caring about them and whether they lived or died. The gore in this movie is also a step up from the previous effort so if you're a gorehound like myself then you should be satisfied!
Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021)
A wasted potential
As a huge fan of the saw series, I was excited for this after the disappointment that was Jigsaw. Unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. The story itself was promising, as was the direction (there are clear nods to Darren Lyn Bousmans previous Saw efforts - especially number 4), however it fell flat and ended up becoming a very mediocre movie.m
I give this a 6 out of 10 however I've rated it 10 as I would like to see more entries, especially ones going back to the John Kramer storyline - Hoffman should definitely be brought back!
