Sing 2 (2021)
Great but we just watched the original idea from 90s
This is great and wonderful but there's a huge caveat: it's a total plot rip from the 1997 WB animation Cats Don't Dance with Scott Bakula. What's crazy is a movie as good as the aforementioned movie is not as well known as you'd think but maybe it is it's just we had not ever seen it before until 26 years later, that's bonkers if you ask me. We're not saying anything negative about either movie I just wish we had seen the WB movie before this Illumination animation. Whatever hope you all get a chance to watch and compare the two movies and enjoy both as much as we have. There are a lot of remakes so it's not a new thing.
The Fantastic Journey (1977)
Reminds me of Logan's Run
There are some elements that bring to mind the TV series of Logan's Run. I'm surprised more of the the other commenters have not mentioned it. Things such as a small group going to another place and being abducted by a control freak who has a utopian society run by android he created obviously with some differences but the similarities are interesting. They even aired concurrently. We as empty nesters really enjoy these older era shows and movies, they certainly have a lot of nostalgia and an air of wholesomeness that today's entertainment just can't come close to admitting there are some of us that still look for PG content and yet not baby shark rubbish either.
I Survived... Beyond and Back (2011)
I'm not sure if they ever used the term NDE but these are
If during the whole series not once was the term NDE used it's probably because they were told not to or don't know what they are but these accounts are all exactly that. And unlike all the rest of Hollywood these are genuine. That's what is amazing about the series. But they do use religious terminology and share their experiences describing to the best of their ability with our finite language an infinite realm and greater reality and from their own understanding unique to themselves. Wish this was an ongoing production. Love the fact they don't have a commentator ruining it like other documentaries do.
Life After Death with Tyler Henry (2022)
You don't need to go to profiteers for closure
Closure comes from interacting with those around you who truly care about you, as you grieve together and be there for each other you will find peace eventually over time through loving each other. It comes from your beliefs and faith if you have it that brings strength. You can't get that from a stranger, especially from one who pretends he is helping, if there is a profit being made it is all kinds of wrong..
