The Handmaid's Tale: The Wilderness (2021)
June's insanity
Episode rating: 10
Season rating: 9
Some seem to think June is more or less 'normal' and that she's capable of taking responsible decisions. She's not. She lost it a long time ago - can't blame her really. If I had to guess when it all finally became to much for June, it would be all the months she had to spend all alone in the hospital room with her brain dead pregnant 'walking partner'.
After that ordeal she got the insane idea to rescue the children and you can really see how mad she is when saying she's gonna rescue "all of them" and "get them all out". She's still that insane person. I guess after all she's been through she'll never be 'good ol' June' again. With that in mind this ending and her decisions make sense.
Even though she's lost it, she's still June, she's still brave and intelligent; otherwise the Angels Flight or this ending would never have succeeded. To really understand this series and most of all June, you've need to understand her state of mind.
So, season five... Because of June's mad decisions I guess she'll flee and join up with the Nighthawks. I think we're in for another great season.
The Handmaid's Tale: Home (2021)
Excellent Episode
Episode Rating 10/10
Elizabeth Moss acting is perfect in this episode. We really got to see how much Gilead had changed her over the years. June's "speech" to Serena was better than I imagined it would be, especially when she turn Serena's own words, from a previous episode, against her.
June is obviously affected and damaged from her long stay (7 years?) in Gilead. It's not surprising that sex is difficult after years of being raped regularly. At the end of the episode, during the sex scene between June and Luke, June continues despite Luke's hesitation and even when he clearly asks her to wait. I wouldn't call it rape as some others do, Luke could have stopped it whenever he wanted, but it's clearly a sign of how much Gilead have affected June.
The Expanse: Nemesis Games (2021)
Solid season, great episode!
Episode Rating 10/10
Season Rating 9/10
I don't get the hate this season receives. Not the best, nor the worst. We knew Alex Kamal was gonna die and I liked the matter-of-fact way he died. It was lifelike, s*** happens sometimes. I liked that character, but the low ratings among some reviews, solely for Kamal's death, is quite meager.
I enjoyed the new and semi-new characters this season brought, especially Peaches. Interesting cliff-hanger ending and a long wait for next season... But most importantly: I really hope Bezos, or perhaps somebody else, will finish the series with nine seasons - The Expanse is among the best series and it deserves it.
Haters gonna hate, I'm gonna watch.
The 100: A Sort of Homecoming (2020)
Unworthy forgiveness
This episode was really good. The only flaw - and the reason I give it 9/10 instead of top rate - was the others reaction towards Clarke. Especially when they forgave her for killing Bellamy but also for destroying the helmet.
Clarke has been evil from the beginning and she treats Madi like a slave. She has no problem deciding and making decisions on other people's lives - regardless of other people's wishes. They shouldn't have forgiven her.
Madi finally broke free from Clarke. Next episode, hopefully mostly on Bardo, can be really good. If Madi helps Cadogan with the stone and the code we might get to see what it's all about. I've been quite right in my predictions about the plot of recent episodes. But I really have no idea how the series will end.
And those of you who give this 1/10, both this episode and the last, are just obsessed with Bellamy or "Bellarke". I actually think it's pretty pathetic.
The 100: Blood Giant (2020)
The End Is Near
This episode was difficult to rate, but after rewatching it, I actually give it 10/10.
This season has been the best so far, despite very tough competition. I have my theories about how the plot will continue, but It's sad that it (very likely) will happen without Bellamy. A favorite character for sure, although I never completely forgave him for the 'Pike Massacre'. I'd really wanted to see him until the end.
I've disliked Clarke since the beginning and she's gotten worse and more murderous with each passing season. In this episode, we all really got to see how evil she actually is.
Those who compare this episode to the terrible ending of GoT must be more obsessed with Bellamy than with the series itself. Three episodes left of what could possibly be the best series I've seen. Keep it up!
3%: Capítulo 05: Alavanca (2019)
Irritating
3% is getting more and more irritating. The characters aren't even willing to use force to defend themselves. This season isn't that bad, so I'm going to finish watching it, but it sure is frustrating that more or less all of the characters don't care about anything and essentially want to die.
After all the selection and hard work Michele has put into the Shell she and Rafael is just willing to give it up without a fight. Ridiculous.
