True story, believable characters.
15 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This mini series is based on the real crime story which is still not solved.

The production value is top notch and the characters portraited by the actors are great.

The series sticks to the information currently known by informants, journalists and police.

It contains valid criticism of certain police methods as well as some journalists covering the case.

It's worth watching even if you have little or no knowledge of the real crime story it is based on.

And if you already follow the case, you'll still see new information and elements to the story that you weren't aware of.

It's extremely binge worthy, I finished all episodes in one sitting. I just had to see the next one.

Good show. Highly recommended.

Best movie I've seen in years
16 August 2022
The movie is really good. Had me glued to the screen for 2.5 hours and it wasn't a second too long.

Even though you know the ending, there is a lot of detail I didn't know, the storytelling is absolutely top notch. Viggo and Colin are really convincing. Excellent job.

The cinematography is amazingly good, it takes you from the wet, tropical landscape of Thailand and into the cave, all the way inside the mountain. You get a real sense of the culture, how everyone came together to help rescue the kids.

Highly recommended.

No likable characters.
17 February 2019
I didn't make it through the first episode.

All of the characters are unrelatable, unlikable and not interesting. I don't understand how anyone could like this show about filthy rich people making stupid decisions. Everything is very superficial in this series. It's like a daytime soap with a higher budget. Wasted 40 minutes of my life on this. And now I'm just annoyed.

Predictable and boring
27 September 2018
The show is poorly written, predictable, full of loopholes, gets aviation wrong, and most of the characters are not sympathetic. Everything that happens after the "incident" regarding the investigation is ridiculus. This show is a complete waste of time and is more annoying than entertaining.

Berlin Station (2016–2019)

Political drivel
17 October 2017
I watched the entire first season of Berlin Station, and it was a fairly good series full of interesting characters and a plausible story line.

The second season is actually painful to watch. It's a hard left story line, mainstream politicians on the right are portrayed as Nazis etc. The new station chief character is played by Ashley "Pu**yhat" Judd. With lines like "everything is alt-right", it's just a big stinking political sh*it show. Stay clear.

Stalker (2014–2015)

If you like CSI, you'll like this. If you hate CSI, you'll hate this.

This is the kind of show where people say things like; "Did she have any snake bites? - No, the snakes weren't venomous". And "He used to be a soldier, violence is in his nature". And "You signed up on a dating site, you made a mistake. You won't make it again". And "Bondage, a true sign of a sadistic person."

Yes, that's right. This show is really stupid. And you can add things like a single teacher living in a huge villa, everyone looking model- like beautiful. In addition to that, you've got the annoying main character, who's idea of a fun night is drinking wine with a friend and eating salad out of a plastic box.

Everything is predictable. Absolutely everything, except who the stalker actually is. And the reason for that is because the stalker's character is introduced near the end of each episode. There's no way of trying to think for yourself and figure out who he/she is. It's just following the detectives until they find the person. Where's the fun in that?

The Bridge (I) (2013–2014)

High quality television
7 August 2013
I've seen the original Swedish/Danish version, and I actually didn't like it that much. The thing that put me off was the Saga Noren (Sonya in US version) character which was annoying and unsympathetic. I know she has Asbergers, and I find it very unlikely that a person with her social skill set and the inability to communicate and "read" someone's face would make a great detective. Kim Bodnia's character was really great though, but I like almost everything he plays in.

That being said, I gave the American version a chance. The different setting (US/Mexican border instead of Swedish/Danish border) and the focus on the corruption and killings on the Mexican side, as well as the different actors made it more interesting for me.

The acting is top notch, both from Demian Bichir and from Diane Kruger. I still don't like the Sonya character, but she's less extreme in the American version, and she's a great portrayal of a person with Asbergers as far as I can tell.

I'm a big fan of slow moving realistic crime dramas and thrillers, and I understand the connection people make with "The Killing", one of the best TV series ever made. What I don't understand, is the connection people are making with "Breaking Bad". I can't find anything comparable, except for the high quality of the show.

All in all, give "The Bridge" a shot, and if you're not sure you like it or not, then watch the number 2 episode as well. It just gets better and better.

Vikings (2013–2020)

Finally a Viking series!
15 March 2013
I've been waiting for someone to make a good series about the vikings. I'm from Norway myself, and I'm naturally interested in our history. I've only seen two episodes so far, but I have to say - it really looks promising. The surroundings and nature in the two first episodes is exactly how it looks in "Vestlandet", the western parts of Norway. Stunnings fjords with waterfalls cascading down the sides. It really looks authentic.

The acting is mostly top notch, a few short scenes aren't that great but it's hardly mentionable. It seems like in the beginning, people are speaking an incomprehensible Norse/English mix, and then they continue speaking a modern English. It's pretty clever actually. Fun fact: When the Vikings invaded the British isles they could understand each other's languages.

The story itself is really exciting, and I just want to watch more.. I can hardly wait for the next episode to be released.

I don't know so much about the Ragnar Lodbrok character, but Rollo (Gangarolf) is a very famous character in the Norse sagas.

I highly recommend this show, and I really hope they continue making this for several seasons.
