The Last Full Measure (2019)
Major goof
Pits is referred to as "Airman" in the movie although his 3 stripe usaf uniform indicates a Sergeant during the time of the Viet Nam conflict. On 1976 terminology was changed so that 3 stripes indicate a Senior Airman. In 1991 the rank of Sergeant was abolished.
The Irishman (2019)
Wonderful film
Oscars galore. Too long? Not long enough! I loved it!
The Man in the High Castle (2015)
Goof in music
The song "Sukiaki" in the first episode was recorded in Japan in 1961 and released in the USA in 1963.
Motherless Brooklyn (2019)
Too long, goes nowhere
A fan of Edward Norton but his Primal Fear, The Score and this film with his mental issues is getting old. He plays the role well, don't get me wrong, but he is wasted in this too long and laborious film that goes nowhere. Boring!
The Goldfinch (2019)
Disappointing
The idea of this movie is great but it just didn't work for me. Think "The Red Violin" - a priceless work of art and it's journey through history. That was a 10. I'd give this one a 4. It got disjointed, with the Russian guy, Miami, Amsterdam, murders, etc. it couldn't get out if it's own way.
The Last Days of Frankie the Fly (1996)
Terrible
What a waste of my time. Typical Hopper, over the top Sutherland, stupid and tasteless.
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014)
GOOF
When Ryan and fiancé meet the Russian for dinner, Jack tried to fill his wine glass from a carafe and spills some which left the carafe empty. Next shot he is filling his glass again and the carafe still has wine in it.
Manchester by the Sea (2016)
GOOF
A few minutes into the film, in the bar scene, Sharon spills her beer on Lee. She is then shown picking her glass up and it is full.
It All Came True (1940)
Goofs
When Bofart escapes from the cops near the beginning of the film it is dark outside. The taxi that he flags down is driving without the headlights on
Den 12. mann (2017)
One of the best - ever!
Totally engrossing, this thriller has you sitting on the edge of your seat from beginning to end! I kid you not- and I've been watching films for 60 years - this was one of the best I have EVER seen.
The Mule (2018)
Fair only
Been watching Clint since Rowdy Yates and he's one of the best. This swan song was predictable and monotonous and only a fair effort by one of the all time greats. Better wait til it comes out on TV...
The Great Gatsby (2013)
Cool logo sequence
I'm a credit-watcher, all the way to the end. Interesting to note Jay Z's attachment to this movie and his numerous songs on the sound track. Mesmerizing to watch Gatsby's "JG" logo transform into "JZ" during the credits. Now THAT deserves my Oscar! Another feature that I really liked was the use of modern music in this 1920's movie, both clever and pulled off with ease. Additionally I am a Leo fan, for sure, and he was good in this role - as was Toby and the rest of the cast - but I felt that the actors were more reading the F. Scott novel as opposed to real acting. I'm sure that The Academy will offer 10 nominations for this lavish, expensive movie, but only few are worthwhile such as cinematography and costuming. It was well worth the $5 I spent at the senior matinée, hell worth twice that....very well done and entertaining.
