August Underground's Mordum (2003)
Madness!
I'm still at a loss for words and I've seen Mordum about five times, now.
This is 77 minutes of some of the most dynamic, harrowing genre film-making ever put down and I'm glad that I invested in it.
Most people are going to praise it for its graphic content (and I'm the first to admit it: this is THE gore hound wet dream), but the fact is that the fine people at Toetag Pictures are immeasurably talented and they all deserve to be seen and heard.
A perfect 10, if you're a horror fan. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it. AT ALL.
This is going to be a classic.
Swoon (1992)
Very Satisfying.
Another biopic of the Leopold and Loeb case - this one took an interestng angle by sensationalizing their sexual relationship, which would've been unheard of in the former "Rope" and "Compulsion". A neat idea.
The cinematography is gorgeous and it housed some very great, sombre atmosphere.
When you weren't drooling over the men's fashion photography, you were thrown head on into one of the strangest relationships ever put on film. Recommended.
