Forspoken (2023)
Not terrible, not amazing.
Kinda weird, kinda boring, kinda fun. The game has a decent story and pretty good graphics. It's fun to run around and discover the world in the game. Fighting is not as confusing as I feared, but it does get a bit linear from time to time. And the dialogue in the game does also get a bit cheesy at times, but doable. I guess they were trying to create a Witcher meets Horizon type of game, but falls short. If you can get this at a good price it might be worth it to have some fun. Perhaps there will be an upgrade like Cyberpunk, that will inhance the game at some point. All in all not as bad as one might fear.
Lifeless Planet (2014)
A small game that feels big!
A nice little indie game, that looks and feels bigger than it is. The atmosphere of the game is everything. I only wish they would make this as a AAA game!
Outriders (2021)
Good to go!
Started this in 2022 and I like it. Great graphics and good gameplay with great combat mechanics. Storyline is interesting and plays like a AAA rpg-game. Don't like the online stuff and with no option to pause on console is one of the downsides. Other than that it's a great game in 2022!
Black Mirror: Metalhead (2017)
One of the best!
I guess you have to like post-apocalyptic scenarios to love this episode, but to me it was one of the best. Dark, scary and I just have a thing for survival/scavenger themes. Loved it!
Returnal (2021)
Dissapointing
Honestly this was a huge letdown and a waste of money. Interesting concept, but no save option and starting from scratch every time you die makes this a waste of time for me. Hope other people enjoy it, but I gave up after a few hours.
Good graphics and smooth gameplay, but overall a flawed game. Sad.
Dying Light (2015)
Slow starter, but worth it!
Gave up on it initially, but picked it up again during covid. And man am I glad I did... The game starts off slow with zero firearms and having to mow down countless zombies with pipes and wrenches can get quite boring. But stick with the game until you reach level 9 and firearms becomes available, then the game really takes off...! Really enjoyed it, a must play zombie survival game!
Prey (2017)
A forgotten gem!
Prey is one of those games that somehow got overlooked and almost forgotten. Picked it up by chance and haven't put it down since. Probably up there as one of the best games of all time, they story, the atmosphere, everything about this game just makes it awesome.
Remnant: From the Ashes (2019)
Dissapointing.
Graphics are good, story is interesting. However, it feels like a 90's game. Linear, stale and repetitive. Combat controls are slow and with every death, you restart at a checkpoint far away. Simply too frustrating gameplay overall.
Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)
Gorgeous, but...
Perhaps the most overhyped game of the year. A huge dissapointment as a FPS game, with no option to change while on foot. Second, the gameplay is generic and characters are forgettable. I like the graphics, the city and the cyperpunk style, this game actually has huge potential, but comes across as a standard FPS game. Just my opinion, but I'm sorry to say, I'm dissapointed sadly.
The Last of Us: Part II (2020)
You may not like this game
This game won't give you what you want. This game is set in the world of "The last of us" and that means life is short and brutal. Main characters are not safe and things won't go as planned or hoped. The best you can do is try to stay alive and push through. If you can accept that, the game is one of the best games you will ever play.
Chernobyl Diaries (2012)
Way better than expected!
This is a hidden gem in the horror genre. Don't listen to the negative reviews. A well done scare.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Entertaining, but predictable.
I'll make it real simple. Everyone of us knows how this movie ends. But go see it if you want to entertained for a few hours.
Days Gone (2019)
Surprisingly great!
It got some bad reviews when it came out, but now it's good to go! A mix of GTA meets WWZ meets Uncharted. A great game, big open world map and a gripping storyline! Survival gaming at it's best!
Metro Exodus (2019)
I loved it!
The best in the series and with an emotional ending. Controls are improved and graphics updated. Well worth the money!
Control (2019)
The Lost Room
If you loved The Lost Room mini series, you'll love this game. Mystical, creepy and suspenseful with plenty of action.
Far Cry New Dawn (2019)
Mad Max meets Far Cry.
Enjoyable and fun. Riding around post-apocalyptic Hope County is both beautiful and scary. The game has a Mad Max feel to it, set in a familiar world of Far Cry and Montana as we remember it. And I think I know what happened to The Deputy... Enjoy!
Venom (2018)
Watch Upgrade instead.
So far from what I read in the comics as a kid. Very dissapointed with this movie. The acting, the jokes, the dialogue - just sub par.
Tomb Raider (2018)
Decent
Most of the time I get why people knock video game movies. But you simply can't cram 100 hours of gaming into a two-hour movie. Some things will be different. I think Tomb Raider captured the essence of the games while giving us some decent action. It's not a record breaker, but it's a good movie that deserves a chance.
