Shock and Awe (2017)
It's true. The negative reviews were politically motivated.
I lived through this, and followed it closely, annd the captured ouroutage of being led to war on lies and a political agenda.
Joker (2019)
Wonderful! Just wonderful!
In the beginning, I worried that Joker's progression m<< < cliche, but I was incredibly pleased to be mistaken. The laughing disorder explained Joker's trademark but his use during the saddest scenes added several layers, and that's just one example of the depth of the character. Marvelous writing, superior camera work, and then Joaquin... I've seen two marvelous Jokers before him, but his performance surpassed everything before it. Building Joker, subtly, but convincingly, made this film an instant classic.
Inherit the Wind (1999)
A wonderful story, with a storied cast, that couldn't live up to it's predecessor
I couldn't believe it when I saw the cast list. I'd seen the 1960 version and I counted myself lucky to watch another interpretation. Unfortunately, I saw the 1960 interpretation, and even through it's inaccuracies, and anachronisms, it taught lessons that lasted throughout my life. It really doesn't matter. The message is the same in both movies because Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan made it important.
