Reviews
Boon (2022)
Complete garbage
First of all, just do yourself a favour and believe all the one star reviews and don't waste your time on this nonsense.
The characters are very poorly written and the acting is even worse. If the slow pace of the entire film doesn't bore you out of your mind, the garbage soundtrack will.
The evil female character was by far the most ridiculous thing in the movie. Almost as bad as the main antagonist in the 1985 movie Commando -just complete trash. That's saying a lot when this movie has just so many bad things to choose from.
Categorising this as B-level is being too kind. I would evaluate this at a C-level movie as an overall experience.
There are many so called bad movies which do provide a certain aspect of entertainment and are fun to watch nevertheless. This is not one of those. This is just bad as in "do not watch" bad.
Parallel Minds (2020)
Avoid at all cost
1. The plot doesn't actually make any sense so the writing is absolutely horrible. The story isn't even the slightest bit interesting.
2. The dialogue is clumsy at best and it feels you're watching a daytime soap opera. But not a good one. One of those that gets cancelled after one season.
3. The acting is so bad that the shared sense of embarrassment is overwhelming. I'm actually absolutely surprised I managed to watch the entire movie.
4. The CGI and scenery has received some compliments in other reviews but honestly, I am unable to see that. I can't see any beauty in this waste of time. I am surprised that someone can.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Boring soap opera in a beautiful setting
First of all, I did like the Peter Jackson movies a lot and expected something even slightly similar in atmosphere. Sadly I was utterly disappointed.
Can't argue with the aesthetics of the series. It does look beautiful. The cinematography is fabulous for being just a series.
There's just the fact, that looking pretty is not enough. It just isn't.
The pace is horribly slow just like a soap opera would be and the dialogue/acting is at the same level. Too many shortcuts in the writing results in incredibly shallow characters.
It's just so absolutely boring to watch when you just don't like any of the characters.
Stay way.
Cosmic Sin (2021)
Disturbingly bad
Every scene in this moves makes you ask the question: "Why would anyone want this scene to be in any movie?"
Everything the actors say makes you ask the question: "Why would anyone say anything like that, ever?"
Just find something else to watch, like drying paint or something.
Resident Evil (2022)
Nothing to do with Resident Evil
I somehow managed to watch the entire series (don't know how) and it just got worse with each episode.
This series is not related to the games nor the movies in any way.
It's basically a high-school drama targeted for 13-year-olds with added zombie CGI every few scenes. The portrayed characters are just very, very shallow and empty.
The dialogue is horrible and lazy, acting was cringy and the storyline makes absolutely no sense at all.
Stay away.
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Single scene stretched super thin
There is no way to review this movie without spoiling it.
So: spoiler warning has been issued.
The scenes are not built up in any way and the characters have no depth in them. This is not the Mad Max we've familiar with.
The entire film consists of two scenes: first they drive one way and then they drive back. The end.
Lot's of explosions and weird looking vehicles taking part in a road war on a post apocalyptic world. Absolutely boring and unrelated to the earlier Mad Max movies.
There is no reasoning behind the actions the characters are making. Everything they do is either purely mindless or just plain stupid.
Despite the obvious flaws in the script, Tom Hardy is excellent as Max. He is tormented, strong and intriguing. I really would have hoped for a more meaningful story for him to go with.
