Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023)
Don't waste you time
The whole series was rushed. The lack of back story made it hard to follow and understand. The fact fully trained adults couldn't the quest but a kid can doesn't make much sense especially when he has no clue what he's doing. The acting was mediocre at best. Nothing special. It's such a shame because Greek history and story telling really appeal to me but this just doesn't cut the mustard. The only thing it has going for it are the graphics and CGI but even then I don't think this is enough to save this series. In all honesty though, don't waste your time. I fell asleep several times through it.
We Have a Ghost (2023)
Predictable and dull
It's was a frustrating watch. Non of the family looked alike and gave more friends vibes who had just had a falling out. There was no originality to the movie and I have seen movies like this dozens of times, and this is a poor attempt at ghost comedy.
The main young character was annoyingly frustrating.
The jokes weren't funny and didn't land, and I can't believe this was accepted to be a movie.
Jumanji did the attic thing, Bly Manor and Haunting of hill house did the haunted house.
The guys from stranger things didn't give any decent energy.
I'd have rather watched Casper the friend ghost with cristina ricci.
The only saving grace and the reason I gave it a 2/10 is because of Jennifer Coolidge.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Santa's School for Girls (2022)
Such a pants episode.
I'm getting annoyed that there is no negative critique when queens aren't doing well. The acting challenge wasn't funny. The judging is annoying. Not being honest to queens is a detriment.
The Great Gatsby (2013)
Family guy did it better
In 6 minutes than this did in 2 and a half hours.
The music was extremely odd for the movie. The driving scenes made me dizzy and were poorly shot. I never wanna hear 'old sport' again after Leo couldn't decide if he wanted to say it with an English accent or American. Toby Maguire seems to have just one facial look. He's totally emotionless. The over excessiveness of unnecessary things was annoying, how many times can they show curtains blowing in the wind.
I was so excited to watch it and it just left me extremely disappointed.
The Nevers (2021)
Hmmm
I love the concept but hate that they use the term 'touched'. It sounds wrong. The show as a whole though is good, and i like that it's all women who have these gifts.
Freedom Writers (2007)
What a phenomenal true life movie
Erin gruwell is purely amazing. The effort and time she put into making her students realise their worth was fantastic. Erin and the students clearly worked hard together to become better and beat the struggles that they had. This movie had me crying, laughing and proud of what they all achieved. I'll never fully understand what it was like to be one her students, but what I will say is there needs to be more teachers like her. Too many kids are failing in school because they aren't being listened to, understood and aren't given any opportunities. This is what a tutor should be. Not just someone who is there to do a job for grades, but to make people realise their worth.
Mr. Mayor (2021)
Great little show
You can tell that Tina Fay's influence is on this show. It reminds me of 30rock and great news, but written much better. Holly Hunter spoils it for me as her character choice is odd.
Free Guy (2021)
So good!
My mind wanted to explode at the thought of NPCs becoming independent. Ryan Reynolds and the other NPCs are amazing and fun. The only let down is the 'real world' acting is bad. Which surprises me as there are some decent actors and actresses.
On My Block (2018)
Great series
The only let down to this show is the dreadful acting from Cezar in season 4. His persona didn't suit the gang boy look. Brett gray is a saving grace to the series.
The Office (2005)
Quite funny but spoilt
I'm not sure if it's because I don't understand American humour, but Steve Carell is the worst in this show. Everyone else is extremely likeable but I feel like he tries to hard to the point where it's not funny.
Dynasty (2017)
What a cracking show
I never saw the original but if it's anything like the original then Kudos. I only gave it a 9 because Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies) carries the show. The show writers make her lovable, funny, sarcastic, smart, empowering, fragile, brash, charismatic, entitled, caring and stylish and she appeals to so many people. Some characters don't necessarily need their story lines airing as they feel like more of an after thought than the main story. All in all, great series!
