Carnival Row (2019)
Phantasy done right.
Carnival row is a welcome phantasy show to fill the void left by game of thrones. The series many species, lore and deep character back story's go along way to creating a setting similar to lord or the rings as mentioned game of thrones and penny dreadful. There's series has already been approved for a second season which is already currently filming and Katy perry is rumoured to be making an appearance adding to the already well known cast, Orlando bloom brings an expected stellar performance alongside Kara delevine with many other excellent recognisable actors supporting. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and would recommend it to anymore who enjoys adult fantasy. 10/10
Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist (2014)
A review of the first season of Street Fighter Assassins Fist
Excellent series, it gives Ryu and Ken the proper introduction and back-story they deserve. There's no real requirement to have a die hard knowledge of the street fighter saga to enjoy this but lets be honest if your watching this series its almost certain you've played at least one of the games, and if not, by the end you will have an higher understanding of the origins of two of the most central characters that made Street Fighter one of the most recognized titles in the fighting genre. I was unsure what style this would take but i was blown away, the cinematography is excellent along with the casting choices, there performances the writing and special effects, all come together to make this an original and authentic street fighter experience. Considering the budget for producing this series was small they make excellent use of the environment, they chose a perfect setting to gives this an authentic feel. The relationship between Ken, Ryu and Master Goken is excellent and gives the story depth, it also sets the stage for what looks to be an equally enjoyable second season. A big thanks to all involved and to all those that donated to kick-starter to help get this made. 10/10
From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series: Pilot (2014)
Intriguing and Intense, worth a watch
An intense first episode from Robert Rodriguez, i enjoyed how unpredictable the gecko brothers are. I wasn't disappointed, defiantly worth a watch. I never watched the original and this might be of benefit to me, I've read reviews from people who did and they seem to find it predictable due to its similarity's in plot. But even still this is a new show and will unlikely follow the original plot every episode. Only downside is it struggled to explain the supernatural side to give me some understanding of where the shows heading, this may of been intentional though in any case it left me looking forward to the next episode. Not bad at all, there's plenty of shows out now that are a hell off allot worse than this, if you haven't watched the original don't let people who have put you off this one. 7.5/10
