The Sky Has Fallen (2009)
Badass practical sfx with surprisingly deep story!
I didn't expect such amazing special effects especially for an indie! Like an 80s gorehound's wet dream. The characters are well developed and sympathetic. The acting could've been better but it makes sense with the PTSD story and the sfx more than make up for it. Anyone who misses practical blood and guts, you got to see it!
Automaton Transfusion (2006)
It really is that bad...
The negative reviews are right. Don't watch this. The movie itself is hard to even look at because of the messed-up framerate issue, and all the dialog is ADR. You guys might want to try actually recording sound on location! But the real problem is they didn't have a story or characters. It's all pointless with huge plot holes every 5 seconds, because the film was thrown together so quick. It literally just stops with a "To Be Continued" i.e. "We couldn't finish it and didn't have an ending so stick around for another round of awfulness." No thanks.
I should've known better renting this, but Bloody Disgusting loved it, which is completely ridiculous. They must know the filmmakers.
