LMAO unexpected favorite

I honestly didn't expect to like it but I'm actually laughing out loud and that's rare. Chuckle internally and that's just about 90% of my reaction to comedy. It may not be a comedy for everyone but they go over the top with how the characters react and the faces are spot on. It's always a left turn when you know it should be right. We all know what to expect from a gangster and this flops it on its head and then does a somersault while wearing an apron. I'm barely on the fifth episode but am thoroughly enjoying it so far. It took an episode to fully grasp the concept but it has only gotten better in my opinion. If you aren't familiar with yakuza or gangsters and the stereotypes of a mean tough ready to fight and do shady business type of guy then this may just fall flat. Imagine a super villain who is now domesticated house husband but still talks and does everything like a bad guy but innocently does it for his wife. Instead of the super villain buying a safe reliable car he instead goes over the top and builds a bullet proof off road missle launching tank so she can drive to work as an office employee. Lasers and AI robots help her park and will destroy any obstacle on her drive to work without her knowledge or consent but at least she's safe. Same thing but for a tough guy who could as soon slice your throat in the past and bury you or cut up fruit for an amazing dessert crepe. Lol. If it drops off the in creativity and gets dumbed down later on then I'll update but if this stays the same then I stand by my rating and review. Enjoy.

So many plot holes and contradictory statements. Too many mistakes.

I'll begin with the good. The narrator has a decent voice and the audiobook recording is fairly consistent unlike others I've heard. For example the audio level is the same throughout and background sound affects and music isnt overbearing for the most part. I think the beginning episode had blaring intro music sounds that were so obnoxious. Hard to remember at this point. Unfortunately we get to the bad review part. Again I'll begin with narrator. She's limited in the voices she can use for each character so it's basically two maybe three voices and you can't tell who's speaking unless it's said.

On to the actual story: good part first. This story could have potential had the writing been 1000000000000% better. The idea had potential but the follow through and actual writing fell flat on its face much like the main character does over and over. She is a tiny bit hard up for money which starts this crap show and makes poor decisions constantly from accepting an offer of prostitution to help her dad with money. She puts herself in a bad situation and acts like teen who's fallen in love with a random scary stranger that she doesn't know and will spend a month with at an unknown location. Yeah right away I'm not vibing with her personality and decision making. Worse, her and all the characters are incompetent and make decisions only a 5 year old would make cause they don't know any better. The writer either had no one proof read all the mistakes they made from events, locations and people that were brought up and established events and yet later on they are ignored and worse they forgotten for the sake of setting up a new scene that ignored vital information from before. It has so many plot holes that if you were to read the comments people are not happy and point out these extremely glaring mistakes. If I had to give a count it would be around 30 - 50 mistakes. An example would be having ghosts who can kill werewolves and interact with things and people one second but when it matters to the scene they can't do anything and need a live person to do it. Also only one person can see and hear them and yet the writer forgets that and has someone answer a ghost even though they aren't able to hear or see them. Next second that same person has to put on special glasses and ear piece to have a conversation with said ghost. That was just one or two episodes and within one scene where all those mistakes happen. It's like the writer had way too many ideas and forgot which choice they made and twisted the scene to fit their idea they came up with later on. Then despite having said and done something earlier that would block the new scene they forget it all and make it nonexistent for the sake of a unique scenario that is rather silly. Lilly the main character is a clutz and ruins everything and puts herself in danger repeatedly that you just think she's better off dead. I'm assuming the writer is a teen or first time writer since they ideas were limited and the same old shtick was used to reveal where someone was hiding and the idea that the goofy clumsy girl always trips into the arms of her man is cliche. Having the MC behave like a stereotypical dumb blond and keep her that way with zero growth made it impossible to root for her. I'm just disappointed there wasn't a better way to setup the story than having her become a prostitute. She's forever the prostitute for some really weak reason given for the stories genesis. It only gets worse as many sexual assault scenes repeat for the same woman due to her decision. Again I think these were very limited ideas and much better choices could have been made rather than making people look incompetent, easy, weak, and useless. To end all I can say is this story has more plot holes than Swiss cheese and you will be disappointed and frustrated cause you'll realize the failures in reall time and wonder if you heard it wrong or you are crazy. Missed opportunity if only someone told the writer this and this don't make sense and if you make some changes and don't repeat the same theme and mistakes it could be a decent story. Check for contradictions and look for missing details in terms of not explaining when something happened or how long time has passed. A month vanished in the story but the story had it sound like 3 days with what was happening. Locations where people were were forgotten and now ended up in another part of this magical place but no explanation was given and nobody present remembered it happening. That wasn't a writer's choice but an oversight. People split up and went to dangerous places over and over despite it being a lesson that was learned early on and yet the writer figured this was normal behavior for a character to go by themselves towards the sound of someone e screaming and dying while telling their group of 50 warrior friends and beasts to hang back while I go investigate on my own. Seriously that's how it sounds throughout. Let's make the dumbest choice possible and see if our stupidity will bring us out alive. Let's all put our hand in the mouth of a hungry werewolf and see what happens. I'm thinking nothing will happen even though my other three friends tried and now their dead. It could have been good but isn't.

Heartless in a Heartbeat (2022 Podcast Series)

Offensive to victims of rape and abuse

This was horrendous to listen to. I was shocked at how a writer could twist a bad situation into a romance. You will get to listen to an audiobook where a guy who has an arranged marriage pulls a bait and switch by drugging and raping a family member of his fiancé to get out of it and force this sex victim into a forced arrange marriage on the spot. It gets worse with more rape but it's never said that way so as to avoid how true and ugly the situation is. The listener also gets to hear the weakest most pathetic woman who doesn't say no or even fight and just does whatever her sexual assaulter says for any tiny threat. Oh and there is the constant pressure of forced pregnancy by assault and the main character barely puts up a fight. It's disgusting how a writer could twist sexual, mental, physical abuse and pretend the victim could have emotions while being held hostage and threatened constantly. The whole plot is ridiculous and I won't go into detail at the weak reasons why everyone is doing all these ugly acts. I never felt happy for the main character nor did I care what happened after I saw how pathetic she was written and what she allowed herself to put up with when she had an opportunity. I'm shocked this was published and recorded. If someone had the gull to make a movie or show on this they would be banned and villainized for this junk.

D.Gray-man (2006–2008)

Nothing special. It passes time but is generic

It's a new concept but very simple and boring. Maybe it was supposed to be more mysterious and ended flat. I'm only on episode 12 but it hasn't grabbed my attention. Maybe it's cause I've seen much better and well thought out anime's with better plots and background music so it's not fair. Speaking of the music I hope it improves cause it's background music reminds me of black and white movies where it's very over dramatic like Dracula black and white rebveal. Very boring and doesn't add to scenes at all and is annoying. Imagine a romantic scene where two folks are making eye contact and it's love at first sight but you hear heavy metal. Doesn't feel right. Anyways back to the main story, the attempts at comedy also fall flat and the action is half decent. Additionally the typical anime second is played out too much. Anime second is where a fight is occurring and they have a conversation that lasts forever during a fight and everybody stops fighting to allow the enemy to do worse things. I literally hate when a fight occurs and people just stand, talk, watch, do nothing to help. I understand suspending reality but jeez there's a limit to that and it becomes ridiculous. I don't think I can co time watching it since my patience is at its limit cause I keep expecting something to grab my attention and curiosity. Action alone is worthless without a good story and characters. Most if not all the characters are bland in my opinion. Even the villains just annoy me instead of thinking oh wow impressive and complex it's just worthless talk and inaction and the obviously overpowered bad guys and underpowered good guys who struggle for no real reasons other than not acting when they can and talking when they shouldn't. Lastly I'll say this review is in line with a grown person's viewpoint and not a kid or teen who may be entertained with this anime. The writing may be for a younger viewer who won't care about how bland or boring these characters are to an older crowd and they will appreciate the childish comedy and type of writing.

Sword Art Online: Administrator (2019) Season 3, Episode 24

Poor writing during last half.

So disappointed at whoever wrote the last several episodes. This show was decent at first but wow this was dumb how they setup many scenarios that lacked any substance or plot. I mean there was soooooo much standing around and zero action in scenes where it made no sense. It was episode after episode of people making speeches or monologue galore. I mean if you are in a fight and literally stand and talk for 20 minutes while people are getting killed and there is a literal battle going on and you just do nothing it makes no sense. I was so frustrated at how they made this story turn to more of an audiobook with pictures displayed in between instead of an action fantasy show. Maybe the creators of this series was swapped out for the B team or some other group took over and decided to go another way and thought it would sound cool to have a break between fights where they just talk forever and the script could be written by a ten year old. It didn't make much sense when combined with the action scenes since it was literally whole things were happening. They didn't use the usual methods of flashbacks or having talks about the plan ahead of time to get rid of the dialogue that is super awkward and is way off in terms of timing. This was hard to watch and extremely frustrating considering the creativity we have seen in bursts in the past to now see it go down hill fast. This is when you just drag out a series till it dies off in a corner rather than end it on a good note. It's like they wrote junk to eat up time and fill out and extend the episodes out cause they ran out of material.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (2018– )

Equal parts comedy, adventurous, romance, action, mystery

I usually wait for more episodes under my belt but I'm at 10 and I'm sure I'll like it. I'm impressed with how much I've enjoyed this random anime. The concept of a slime is odd to say the least. I thought it would be be hard to squeeze out much from this but I'm glad I tried it. To be honest the title like half of the anime's is crap. It's like naming a comedy "the funny cartoon". Anyways, I am fascinated with how many sides of the show I've seen from the beginning transition of how he was reincarnated and the way he gets stronger as well as building the characters up. The idea of how things operate in this universe is somewhat unique. I really appreciate how creative they can get. Maybe the one draw back is when a character can be a little overpowered since you can pretty much win everything and everyone without being creative except to make it more colorful. Essentially if you make a character like Superman and the goal was to only kill then he could laser eye every enemy and bam 2 second battle. Forget strength, flying, freezing or speed. That's kind of what they did here but at least they take advantage of the variety of skills attained over time and use it for entertainment. Otherwise this could get boring. I always try to avoid giving any spoilers and leave examples and opinions instead of actual events. You really can't Judge anime's by the cover art, title and sometimes the description/ summary can be way off of not help sell it. The ratings and some of the reviews speak for that part. Just beware of high ratings with either no reviews and generic ones.

Kemono Michi: Rise Up (2019)

Dumbest and funniest show.

OH MY GOSH! They go against everyone's expectations. No one understands what the other is saying and misconceptions as well as miscommunication is hilarious. I keep getting surprised cause I'm expecting a poor sexual inuendo joke and they do the opposite and vice versa. The Japanese people are complete perverts but this show is just the basics and funny. I expected it have a romantic aspect but lol wow I'm Cracking up at how dumb these wrestlers and most characters act. It's opposite reaction to everything. I didn't think I would like it as much as I have. Aggressively dumb comedy. Wish there was more and I'm saying this before finishing all the season.

The Day I Became a God (2020– )

Fantastic journey full of laughter and tears.

I had no idea what I was getting into and it was amazing. I throughly enjoyed it from the start. I was laughing from over the top believable character who makes you wonder what's happening. I was cracking up and the mystery of what was happening had me guessing the whole time. I laughed out loud more times than I expected but more surprising I ended up crying too. I was not expecting to have such an emotional roller coaster ride. I will not say more and don't suggest doing any research cause it's way better that way. I hope you enjoy this stories crazy journey with all its random twists and turns which adds to the experience and I really liked I had no idea what we were going to end with. Quite a blast and very creative. The voice actors hit the mark and really added depth to their respective character. I kind of hope they can come up with more material since I can think of ways they can keep it going. Either way I'm happy with how it ended.

Coppelion (2013– )

Frustrating. 3 girls who equal one man

Okay so these three girls are genetically modified and amount to little more than the intelligence and strength of a single man. What are we supposed to think. Maybe there is an actual name to it but I call it an anime second which is like 1 to 2 minutes of a action packed moment and instead of reacting AND thinking at the same time, they spend an eternity thinking of an action plan and then moving all while having bullets flying at them. The time it takes to think and say what the plan is the bullets have hit them before the first syllable is spoken. Dumb. Also the scenarios aren't well thought out since things don't make much sense and are made up to fit the characters needs and not what based on any reality or logic. For one tell me how it makes any sense to send out three teens on a highly dangerous mission and they are dressed like school girls in tiny skirts... second they are little cry babies who have no business being in that environment. Other than being able to breath in toxins they are unable to do much but cry, eat, run, get hurt. The realities of the mission plus by sending these airheads amounts to girls who are the main characters needing to be rescued by a boy. Heck they could have just sent him and have them stay back caring for people while he rescues and does anything dangerous. Talk about under using these girls and they apparently have special abilities but aren't used much at all. Even one scene where one girl should have had the strength of ten men couldn't lift one person and save them. Seriously explain this. I don't get the point of the whole story when you throw in these weak characters who need more rescuing than they can even provide. Very frustrating if you are expecting heroes in some form and get whiners and crybabies.

BEM (2019– )

Not bad and not great. So so.

Let's start with the really terrible theme music at the start. For me it doesn't fit with this vibe or the characters except if you think of the Bem guy and his old outfit. It's really annoying. As for the story it's okay to say it wasn't overly impressive cause it lacked any backstory for all the characters and you j on boy get two characters history and one is really brief while the other is an overall broad strokes deal. Nothing in depth and all the characters have the same lackluster emotional depth to fit their existence. I suppose if you can't taste anything or die everything sucks. I'm disappointed there wasn't more than just repeated stories and simply adding in different bad guys. What I hated the most is the bad guy themes and how ridiculous they were. I mean if this were an 80s or 90s cheesy movie then it fits. Anyways the ending was okay but you will be unsatisfied with the outcome. I suppose they intended it to be a cliffhanger somehow but it could just be the end also and it's up to you to imagine what happens and have none of your questions answered. Maybe a season two will come out in 5 to 10 years like most other anime's. Considering this was made in 2019 and has an older look to it, (possibly for artistic reasons)I doubt it's popular enough to be considered worth the time and money to make more episodes. But I'm this stupid genre or type of entertainment called anime's these shows can't take several years to get green lit. I'm not holding out hope and frankly it won't. Other me if I don't get more. There's plenty more shows that I'm rooting for out of the hundreds available.

Fairy gone (2019)

Boring, uninspiring, annoying, waste of time

I tried to watch this but only made it to episode 7 before giving up. My gosh this was a tough watch. It had potential but quickly it lost me from the start. They jumped locations and to different years in the history that it was difficult to keep track of. I gave up cause all the names of the cities and places visited as well as when it took place was jumping multiple times within a single episode it felt rushed. The characters were colorless and weakly written. There was little depth in anyone and the main characters were nothing I could get exited for and cheer them on for their successes or failures. That's how out of touch they wrote them and presented them. Maybe it gets better but I can't do it. This is only the second show I've ever quit and that's saying a lot. I tend to finish them even if I dislike them a little cause at least the other shows give me a hint there's more to come and the potential to win me over. This one just made me yawn and I never expected to be thrilled during the episode since it was so flat. Even the action was barely noticeable. Good luck watching and drink coffee cause aside from the fairy part there's no real story here and you'll likely be bored. That is unless you read the reviews that are way off base and are likely fake. Giving this a 10/10 is a joke.

Stand My Heroes: Piece of Truth (2019– )

Boring. Nothing stands out at this point in the show

I'm beyond bored but I'm only a few episodes in so I'll update if anything changes my mind. The pace is dreadfully slow and if you want to bring viewers in you got to have action or a hook in the story. The main character has one unique characteristic and it's kind of dumb. She's low intelligence with no backbone and makes stupid decisions meaning she puts herself in situations she can't handle. From chasing someone who can overpower her and she has no weapon or ability to truly fight and she can't speak for herself. She's a useless character that needs many men to help her out so I don't understand why I should like her. She's a professional apologist. (Her)I'm sorry I messed up and made a bad decision or I'm sorry I tripped and am clumsy or I'm sorry I wore dumb shoes for a job where you can't run in high heels and I'm sorry for letting you talk down to me. I'm sorry you said I'm stupid and I will try not to be stupid anymore. Jeez how frustrating of a character she is who brings no value to the story. I don't see what people like about this story. If you want to portray a female who is constantly praised for her existing only cause she is pretty then welcome to boringville. This story will help you sleep and that's about it.

Why am I getting an education and enjoying it???

Ok so normally you watch these for fun and shut off brain. Instead I'm here relearning economics, import export, trade, supply and demand, warfare and negotiations. What did I sign up for? I'm having a blast and I'm barely on episode 17. I'll update if it goes downhill but I am so enjoying the education and fantasy but they way it's presented is entertaining and the it's not too straight of a story so you get surprised enough that things stay fresh. It's a treat when I get to watch each episode and it only keeps me wanting more. The balance in how the story is told is magic in itself. I'm avoiding revealing things cause I would hate to ruin anything and I hope people feel the same way. I found myself laughing out loud cause I didn't expect to be learning concepts I was aware of but hadn't heard of in a simple and clear way. I really can't get over the fact it's not a dead brain watch of a show. I just stopped watching another show after season one and two episodes of an unnamed anime that made me angry at the unbalanced story and illogical storytelling. When you end up hating the Main character and don't feel anything for the side characters and don't care if they die it's bad. But this show it's refreshing and is making up for all that time I wasted on that other show. One other think I like is they aren't afraid to get deep at times and funny at other times as well as emotional and even have violence. The characters are similar to regular people in terms of we are both kind and violent, happy and sad, focused and distracted, loving and spiteful. Some anime's stick a character in a box that isn't able to get out and change shape. Sometimes you get a character who's 99% angry and that's their schtick and basically one dimensional throughout. Here im seeing many sides and it changes spending on the situation and what's required. I'm happy one of the characters hasn't been all business focused at all times but has moments where business or political leader isn't what's needed and it's time to shift to war general mode and then back to kind leadership but with authority. I get the vibes of "it's better to be warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war" the characters been setup to always be prepared. That doesnt mean focus on getting stronger so you can be an ultimate fight and be a beat and tough all day and night. It means be able to be the fighter but also train to be the smartest and kindest and best prepared person all around. Sharpen all your skills. Why am I trying to be all deep in a comment about an anime. Lol. I'm dumb and laughing at myself. I guess I really like this show so far.

Boring again

Even the music isn't helping my brain signals to find things sad or funny which helps occasionally but with this lame cast it falls flat. Then Maggie leaves which doesn't bother anyone cause she was a selfish whiny lady anyways. She pushed her kind husband or boyfriend away and the lesson they tried to forcibly teach was a women's career is more important than a lifetime of happiness with possibly your one love. Go women's rights and feminism. You can lift 300lbs like a man even if you weight 89lbs and are 5 ft tall cause there's literally no difference in how the heart works or physical body works. I'm sure she will be fine like most women are when they abandon a man who is willing yo work in the relationship cause hey, work.... What a poor note to leave for the actress to depart the show on. Pretty weak just like the show. I miss the first several years of this show.

Grey's Anatomy (2005– )

How depressing.. went from great to waste of time political propaganda show

Had several great seasons to enjoy and great actors and characters but now it's so boring. The new cast has overtaken the show and are pitifully boring and unfunny. There are a few of the original or older cast but they are barely used and now are filler. It's a whole new show and only has the weakened structure of the original show. This new show is called force feeding the masses in how and what to think and what to say or not say or else your a bad guy, girl, it, they, them, bbq pit, or any other delusional word you want to be called. If I get a thumbs down you know who I offended and triggered. I used to get emotional and feel for the character and story they imagined and now it's lost the thing that made it great. The cast makes a difference and the current ones just aren't connecting. I really don't think this show can recover and it's about time to put down the lame horse and put it out of its misery. It's lost the magic and is now a ruined show.

Vesper (2022)

Sleeper movie you want wake up from.

Talk about disappointment throughout. I can't combine all the seconds I was intrigued to even add up to a minute. There were scenes that were excruciatingly long where nothing happened and I kept wondering what was the point. The visuals were there and the potential for a story was there but it had nothing to offer at any point. I was curious cause of the affects and the new types of living organisms but the script and lines were wasted on eating up film tape. I mean if there was some kind of dialog here I learned the history and new more about the characters then you might have a tiny part of interest. Maybe I missed something or was distracted but I felt like it was a lot of dead air during a conversation. I had hope and got some gross interesting visuals and boring dialogue with a very dead ending. I really felt like I wasted my time and can't ever get it back and that's saying something since I could watch a commercial and feel as if I learned a thing or had a laugh.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (2018–2019)

Unexpectedly dark humor and crazy scenarios as well as heartfelt.

I honestly had no clue what I was getting into. I thought I was like a romance comedy but it turned into something I can't exactly define. Mysterious to say the least. The imagination to come up with these different, scenarios or stories that didn't just focus on one person and kept things intriguing. The love and flat tone adult like conversations between people had me enjoying it despite expecting outrageous reactions from characters. At first I was expecting an insult or lewd comment to result in anger or outrage and it was a joking yet monotone response which I enjoyed. I have to admit the start had me wondering where it was taking me cause most people watch a show or movie and pretty much know what to expect and in this show I was in complete surprise and just gave up guessing what was going to happen. I went on this story ride and had many adventures along the way and didn't want it to end. I can't wait to movie to the movie I just learned was out there. It's not on any streaming sites I know of but I can't wait to watch it if it's anything as intriguing as this show is.

Kaze no Stigma (2007)

Incomplete and disliked both main characters

If you like to watch a movie about 75% way and then never get the ending then this is a good one to watch. You get to watch all the episodes and get absolutely no satisfaction cause there is no conclusion. The graphics I guess are on par with the year it was created since it's lacking in overall quality. The story premise is interesting at first but the female character is not likable throughout. She's created as quick to anger and oblivious and violent. All guys are attracted to that, right? I'm sure it's a turn on when you are misunderstood and a girl screams and attacks you immediately and you can't explain your side. Great trait for a female if you want everyone to be annoyed and stay away. The guy is all dark and moody with an dash of humor and a sad ugly past. They make him out as the bad good guy with a heart but has some dumb evil side that makes him do the most evil things that the watcher should ignore along with soooo many other people and similar scenarios but they are somehow forgiven and supposedly can make up for it with good deeds. The creator has law enforcement that is useless and turns a blind eye when convenient to the main characters we are supposed to root for. So many things didn't make sense as far as motives go. I know we should turn of our brains and ignore reality but common sense is difficult to do away with. There's some pretty awful implied things that occurred to some of the girls when they under the influence of a sexual predator and the writer glides over what probably happened or failed to create a scenario that made it where they didn't get assaulted. All while the "good" guy does evil things for a good while and simply allows murder, abduction and rape all for revenge and might I add he was acting on his own accord and not under the influence of some other entity. How could people enjoy this and ignore all of this happening and we should somehow root for them as the good guys and hope these murderous couple be together after they act indifferent to each other and are ugly to each other. There was almost zero chemistry built. It was a robotically built forced relationship for two people who can't possibly be good for each other. Even the guys previous relationship can tell you this new chick is nothing he would like. First gf was a hard worker and doted on him and showed her feelings and wanted him. The forced gf is a bratty princess who is clueless and rotten. Match made In hell.

Guilty Crown (2011–2012)

Lost my interest halfway through

I was interested at first but halfway through they managed to make me not care about the main character and nobody had a good background built up. It was pointless after that so who cares who dies since they mean nothing. The writer had a potentially great story but the ups and downs were mainly down. If you build up the characters and then leave them to rot with negligence you get so far down the story there is a point of no return and it's difficult to gain back all that's lost. So sad to feel this way after really getting into it. Plus the confusion and lack of explanation and so little time spent on enriching things as a whole. Can't give more details and give things away or sway the watcher one way or another.

I want more!!!

I want more episodes. This got me me feeling so many different things. This type of anime genre is new to me and I tried it out thinking if it doesn't catch my attention right away I'm moving on and it's only 8 episodes, but then as I neared the 8th episode I was upset cause it went by too fast. Really great work from the story to the emotions and how each character had their own view and ideas. The affect someone can have on another persons life no matter how small the encounter could have been. You may be the person who inspires, motivates, encourages, and maybe save a life. Maybe speaking up for someone or just being a friend is all they might need. We have all had one person randomly do or say something that made your year.

I want more. Damn it I watched those episodes in first season in probably one day and was left hanging. I was hoping it wouldn't get canceled and then the new season comes along. It went too fast! They keep you wanting more but I could handle way more episodes per season. Come on guys let's make this as long as 21 episodes. Please..... PLEASE!!!!
