The Waltons: The Foundling (1972)
A joy in the beginning
Loved seeing the first 5 seasons. The acting by all principals is top notch. Great ensemble and amazing writing. We are lucky to have had it produced back in the day, they wouldn't make it now. I was. 6 when it started, but I remember watching it with my family. And now, watching on ME TV.
Should have ended it after Season 6. Once Michael Learned left, the magic was gone. The last seasons were pretty awful and pandering to the audience. Stories stretched reality a little to far and were frankly boring and silly. Same thing happened with Little House on the Prairie, but a bit worse on The Waltons. Have to know when to put it to bed....
Wildflower (1991)
Wow is this bad
Looked at the cast and director and thought, how did I miss this? Apparently a higher power was looking out for me. But.... I found it anyway.
I've been watching it for an hour and I'm ready to stab my eyes out...
It's completely absurd, terrible acting, silly story with inconsistencies and just juvenile. Everything about it is fake from the sets, to the props.
Has a high school play feel. Actually, I've seen better high school plays than this movie.
It's a movie made for the Hallmark Movie fans which should all be outlawed for dumbing down the human race.
This movie is a train wreck.....
The Goldbergs (2013)
Started great..... downhill from there
So Season 10...Dad died? Really? This show was done after Season 6. But I hung in there. Now 3 episodes into 10, I'm done. Pitiful. At least Jeff Garlin had the sense to leave. But the kids are all college aged and still living at home. Pop died and so they bring in Pop Pop. They really thought this was going to keep the viewers entertained which says how little they think of the network viewer. The story lines are getting beyond tired. And I used to be a fan of Wendy M, but her shtick is so monotonous at this point. What was once endearing is now eyeroll inducing. Such a bad end to a promising start that introduced several new faces that I came to look forward to enjoying every episode. But now, I just want to slam the door in their faces.....
God's Favorite Idiot (2022)
Great premise poorly executed
Sounded interesting but I was leery because Dalcone is poison to his wife in everything they've done. And it continues here. Almost quit after the first few episodes, but I hung in there and it did get a trifle better. Could be salvageable, but unlikely if he is the creative force. Ben Falcone is the reason Melissa hasn't catapulted like she should have after her breakout in Bridesmaids. He is just not funny, not sure how he gets backing for projects except probably because her name is attached. He is taking away her career slowly but surely. Though never proven, I have a feeling he's the reason she so abruptly pulled out of Mike & Molly and forced the show to end. He's in poison.....
The Way We Were (1973)
Too long
Have always wanted to see this, and I got what they were doing. But man was it slooooowww. Could have easily been a 90 minute movie. A little more character development would have been beneficial.
I think it could be remade today and be relevant in our political climate.
