His third feature film (Step Off The Block) sold out a week before screening. A second theater had to be added and that theater sold out as well. The theater gave this film a theatrical run as well and he also appeared on WGN news along with a few cast members.
During the pandemic, Adams created a web series called Plight Of The Independent Filmmaker that ran for two seasons. The series is currently available on YouTube.
The number one thing you have to remember about Adams is without the proper resources, he was able to complete each project as though he had a production company behind him.

Billions: Pilot (2016)
Not your run of a mill sex and violence series
When you think of shows like the Sopranos, The Wire, Game of Thrones, etc., we tune in for the violence. The crazy thing about Billions is that it has every element of the above shows except it doesn't use violence and sex to drive the story. The show is about money and how a US district attorney wants to on the low prove to his wife that he is more powerful than a billionaire. So they go through this chess game try to beat one another every chance they can. The US district attorney's wife works for the billionaire. While there's nothing between them. The US district attorney is he'll bent on clipping the billionaires wings by using the government to shut his company down.
Billions: Tower of London (2023)
Homage to the pilot
I felt the opening scene was explosive and made me want to know more. The opening credits of Wendy walking was a bit long but I guess they had to let the people who didn't know. Damian is BACK! I don't want to spoil it by explaining my title of this review. But everything is in place like a well played chess game opening. I'm eager to see how the pieces move around the board this final go round. I will give a slight hint about my title. It was interesting to see Chuck take the same approach Booby did in the first season. I love the way Wendy's character has morphed into moral compass for Wags and Taylor. If you don't binge watch the series and get to just watch this first episode. It'll force you to watch the series.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
The Matrix on Meth
No spoilers here. Only thing I can say is, it will not disappoint. Confusion that unravels into understanding. Action where it needs to be and a lot of dark humor.
Ain't ISH Shy About the Chi (2020)
Surprise Punchline
Funny, entertaining and relatable. Also quick witted. A surprise punchline in every joke. If you to want laugh, Jay Deep definitely will have you in tears from laughing so hard.
Uncut Gems (2019)
Nonstop mayhem
From the first time you see Sandler's character. It's nonstop mayhem. Problem after problem. Unexpected circumstances. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I have no spoilers because it's a must see and I never ever write reviews, but I had to tell someone else who may be interested in what kind of movie it is. Best Christmas gift to myself and I bought myself AirPod Pro.

The Chi (2018)
Great hopes lost.
I had great hopes that this series would capture true Chicago. It feels more like a more technical Chi-Raq. Gang leaders are far in the streets because all the leaders are locked. There's basically crack babies-turned teenagers- being raised by grandma because the parents are absent. There is no sight of that in this series. The writers randomly throw street names in the script to places that don't exist. Like 63rd and Yates. That's the lake. I wish the chi would consult with people who live in the Chicagoland area before they start season 3 or at least get writers who are from here to write episodes. It makes more sense and that would restore my hope in the show.
The Chi: Feeling The Heat (2019)
Hydrants
Some Chicago fire hydrants have special devices to keep people from turning them on. This one in this episode has one of of those devises and Ronnie had no problem getting through the lock without a key. Writers for the Chi need to go to Chicago and talk to residents or find writers from Chicago to write the story of their city. The current writers are not. When I saw The Wire, even though that was about Baltimore, it still felt like things that happened in Chicago. The Chi is missing that feeling and it's supposed to be about Chicago.
The Chi: Blind Eye (2019)
Cars have their names on them
I was watching this episode and Jada asked what year is it? All Ronnie has to say was, it's an '85 and made it simple. He said it was an '85 Caprice which it clearly is an Oldsmobile Delta 88. I understand the actor staying on script but at least keep some continuity in the piece. Not to mention, no one can put more than $5k in your account in any given day. I'll let you watch the show because if I add more it'll be a spoiler.
The Chi: A Leg Up (2019)
Please get the writers of The Chi a map.
I'm from Chicago and it seems the themes that adapted to the show are from other cities. In Chicago we call shoes with logos on them gym shoes. Not sneaker, kicks or anything else. There were a lot of discrepancies in this episode. The main one that stuck out is the lines: Brandon- "Because you're from Hyde Park and I'm from 63rd and Yates?!" The Hyde Park part is right but Brandon must be related to Aqua-man because 63rd and Yates in Chicago is Lake Michigan. I just wish the writing was more consistent with the storyline.
My Enemy's Son (2012)
What this film is about.
Pulp fiction was a group of film shorts that met throughout the film. My Enemy's Son is in the same respect as seeing a situation and playing it out. A lot of films may show a character getting a flat tire and not go into the entire process of getting it fixed. While that may sound boring. There may be a number of interesting factors that get to that tire being fixed.
My Enemy's Son is about a drug deal gone bad and the consequences left from it. This is not a spoiler. This description simply prepares your mind for what you will see when viewing this film short. I feel it necessary to bring this up because some viewers outside of the Chicago area seem to view it differently. This is an Urban tale that has crime and drama all mixed into it. A love story is told to make you feel warm and fuzzy. My Enemy's Son is a story that is told to leave you fascinated and intrigued.
