One Last Thing (2018)
It was OK- no violence is always a good thing!
The lead was so lovable and the settings were too! Maybe a little predictable, but thats not always a bad thing.
Maybe its just me- but I really dont have a problem w/the gay lifestyle, but why does Hollywood SEEM to be pushing the gay/mix race relationships on us? I could have been fine if it had been a straight group- not sure how this plays out to youth? Same with product advertisements- seems like they have an agenda?
American Animals (2018)
Nice balance......
I always like true stories and after reading some of the news stories about the heist, this one held pretty close to the truth. I also wanted to see it for the local content- Kentucky. Never did figure out why they showed an interstate exit sign on I26 in western NC for the towns of Spruce Pine and Burnsville....ideas? Maybe I missed something- like a side trip to Charlotte?
Also got the feeling that the writers were trying to convey the consequences of these dreams/fantasies the boys were thinking about. Seven years (especially early twenties) in a Federal prison must have been hard, but at least they were not put in a maximum security facility. I didnt love the language- yes, many folks do talk like this (F--- word continuously) but my experience revealed its not the norm.
Hidden Figures (2016)
another goof?
At the start of the show, the girls are pulled over by a cop in a 1964 FORD Galaxie. They are driving a 1957 Chevy, but one of them states that the year is 1961- 4 yrs before the cop car was made! I liked the film, and understand the drama between the men and women was played up more than actually happened. It was a neat story!
Blue Jay (2016)
OK, but oh, what possibilities!
I know black and white is supposed to be artsy and mood creating, but I'm a color kind of guy, sorry. I also felt like they both played the awkwardness too hard at the beginning. And, as usual for me, I'd like a bit more background details up front- about both characters, and more scenes from around the town. Finally the ending was not my kind...........maybe not a live happily ever after, but at least SOMETHING!
Lion (2016)
pretty good movie
Indian movies can be a bit troublesome to us here in the states, but those realities do ring up some interesting thoughts about our own lives here in America. I liked the movie- it started out moving very quickly, and the story was not too difficult to follow, but it was a tab SLOW during the middle section. The overall story was very good, and the fact that is was based on a true story ALWAYS reels me in!
