How did any cast member get work again?
10 April 2008
This movie is so bad, and the cast, which includes some semi-big names, is so bad in it, you will spend most of the films running time (if you can manage to keep watching) wondering how any of these actors got work again. I can't imagine this ever had much of a theatrical release, and got its only exposure on late night 1980's cable TV, a fate the film certainly deserved. I know they have fans, so if your interested, Cherie & Marie Currie sing a couple of songs that I don't think are available anywhere else. If this wasn't so obscure, it would have to rank pretty high on the IMDb Bottom 100 list. Trust me, it's really that bad.

Almost forgotten, this huge flop deserves a look.
9 January 2008
A notorious big budget flop when released. This Robert Altman inspired comedy has some terrific moments and an occasionally inspired cast. Although it goes on to long an loses its focus completely, there are enough funny moments that will keep a curious viewer watching until the end. If you are a fan of character actors and actresses, this will be a treat for you; you will recognize so many terrific little known performers throughout this movie (you may not know their names, but you know their faces), heck even the kid from A Christmas Story turns up in a small part. Rent if from Netflix, if you read this, I bet you will enjoy it.

Missed Opportunity
5 September 2007
This is very well done, and is very informative and fans of the band will find this engrossing. But with the recent death of Sandy West, the lack of participation in this documentary of Joan Jett is very sad. Let's face it, there will never be another documentary about this band, that will have the opportunity to tell the true story, or at least the story of the band from each of the major participants. It's very sad that after all this time the participants in this story could not put their differences aside for long enough to put on film their story and feelings about their memories about this unique and very neglected band. Or maybe the fact that they could not, is the true story of how horrible this experience was for the young women who lived it.

Ah, the forgotten films of my youth
28 August 2006
In this media saturated age, it's hard to remember a time when seeing an oddball film was hard to do. As I dare to share my age I was 17 or 18 when this film first popped up on Cinemax. Growing up in Iowa I read more about cult or pyschotronic movies than I had the chance to see them, so when a Paul Bartel movie showed up on cable it was something to see. I can't say it's a great movie, but it's odd mix of strange and sweet still makes it endearing to me. And hey, any movie that starts out with showgirls packing heat hunting down a sexist producer wins points with me. Plus Nancy Allen (a shame she doesn't get the respect she deserves for the brave work she did in the eighties) and a lot of oddball character actors makes this a fun film to watch for anyone who grew up loving the cult movies, actors, and directors of the seventies and eighties like I did.
