Persuasion (2022)
This is sad
How was this movie even made with such a cringe script? This attempts to be young and hip, and fails profoundly. Did they really use lines like "he's a ten, I don't trust a ten"? Just very sad this movie exists.
Bite Me (2019)
Sweet, Funny & Relatable (Even if it's about Vampires)
A great film is made by an unique story with relatable elements.
Well, romantically engaging a vampire with an IRS agent is definitely unique, but there are so many elements of this relationship that any of us can relate to from accepting oneself to learning to open up. "Bite Me" is truly one of a kind, and through its comedy, it manages to create a beautiful hilarious story with the best characters on the screen. Definitely recommend!
Rent (2005)
Perfect!
Rent, an adaptation from Puccini's La Bohème, is a perfect friendship, love and support story. It tells the story of the life of 8 friends during the period of one year. Each character, Maureen, Mark, Roger, Tom Collins, Mimi, Joanne, Benny and especially Angel are different, but one thing connects them all: the will for a better life without AIDS! All characters also reflect a bit of Jonathan Larson, the composer who died in 1996 from Marfan syndrome. He was only 36 years old. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a Tony Award never being able to receive it for he died on the night of the final rehearsal of Rent. In the movie, all characters are the same as in the musical, excluding Mimi (now Rosario Dawson) and Joanne (Tracie Thoms). The movie is for me perfect and I can really say that it changed my life with its two tag lines: No day but today and Today 4 U, tomorrow for me!
