Baymax! (2022)
Cute and funny show
Probably not what Big Hero 6 fans were hoping for, but it's a cute and funny show and a good hour of television. Some folks are claiming that it's too woke, "pushing agenda's" and inappropriate. It's a cartoon about a walking balloon helping people for crying out loud. I thought the "first period" episode was very well done and very appropriate. If you don't think your kids should watch a cartoon addressing an important topic like that, I feel sorry for your kids.
There is not one falalalalalala tho... Now Disney, please give us a decent Big Hero 6 sequel.
Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)
Why, WHY did they have to cast Awkwafina?!
Mediocre story with boring 'and then, and then, and then, and then' structure, no real conflict since collecting the crystal fragments is super easy, the dragons look more like something out of My Little Pony than Asian folklore, waaaay to many cutesy sidekicks (I mean... the big bug thing...AND mini monkeys...AND a baby?! But overall, not unwatchable.
Until the dragon opened her mouth. Why, WHY did they have to cast Awkwafina? Had I known she was in there I would not have watched or chosen the Dutch dub. She single handedly ruins the movie, screaming and smirking and giving the dragon not an ounce of class. Terrible.
The Green Knight (2021)
You don't liking or understanding does not bad movie make
I'll be the first to admit: this movie isn't for everybody and the advertising promises something you're not getting, which leaves a lot of people disappointed or even frustrated. But just because it wasn't for you, does not make this a bad movie.
If you're expecting "King Arthur assembles the Avengers"... you're not going to like this.
I personally loved this movie because of it's ponderous, deliberately vague storyline, slow pace, brilliant acting and stunning cinematography.
Follow Me (2020)
He didn't remember!
Literally twice in the movie a character tells the main character "If it get's intense, remember it's NOT REAL". And guess what. It's all not real. But he didn't remember! Ha! Surprise!
Really, you can plot this entire movie out 5 minutes in. Terrible acting, no likeable characters to root for... terrible movie.
