Slow Burn World Building
2 September 2022
I loved the first episode. Though the pacing was slow, what Tolkien project isn't?

You could feel the world building being done. I loved the introduction to characters and being back in Middle-Earth. The visuals were stunning and the storylines were all intriguing enough to keep me invested in the story going forward. The acting was impressive and added weight to a well made show. I love this show already. If you hate it, then don't watch it.

I don't feel like I have to choose between this and House of the Dragon... they are just different. This feels like positive artistic high fantasy, while HotD feels like cynical realistic fantasy.

Who knew Tolkien fans were as bad as Star Wars fans.... I truly don't understand why people need to share their hatred of something...

Not my kind of Dumb
4 May 2018
This movie was dumb. While I like like half of the original I think second half of it was unwatchable. I feel like there are scenes throughout that are funny but I ultimately didn't like this dumb movie very much. (D-)

Penultimate Movie in the "KNOWN" MCU
4 May 2018
While I absolutely loved Infinity War...and I do mean love, there are scenes in this movie that I have wanted to see my entire life and I was not disappointed. But with that being said I was expecting this to be the greatest movie in the MCU because it was the culmination of the 18 movies up to this point. (I still would put Civil War, Winter Soldier, Guardians, and the original Avengers ahead of it). While 9/10 was the score I give it I feel like 9.5/10 is more appropriate. There was one thing that bothered me in the latter half of movie. This is clearly was a part 1 of 2. That is where my only problem lies. This is what I Imagine will be a better version of what I think Deathly Hallows Part I was to the Harry Potter series... but to the MCU. Highly recommend it but also feels like the episode before the season finale in this big budget tv show known as the MCU

A Quiet Place (2018)

Favorite Movie of the Year
4 May 2018
Quiet Place is a fantastic movie. The story has so many layers. It can be watched multiple times and still have new revelations. Emily Blunt and Kransinski were phenomenal. Kransinski really impressed with the story and direction. In a year with Infinity War, I can't believe that my favorite movie so far is Quiet Place...
