I Care a Lot (2020)
What about the OLD PEOPLE?
I'm not an expert reviewer so bear with me.
I'm giving it three stars because it's a polished movie... as far as story lines go. Yecch...
Okay, so it's a rehashed dark comedy with criminals getting in too deep and running into other meaner criminals and they overcome near death, emerge victorious and run into the sunset with a last ditch effort "Scarface" ending but the ending was like a morsel of justice to balance the film's morality out.
The thing with movies like these where the bad guys sort of get away with it is, the characters are likeable, and their crimes are usually victimless.
Like if it involved money, property or something.
But the victims here are old people. And in the end they aren't even resolved.
I guess everybody's clamoring too much about Rosamund Pike's hair giggling "ooh she's so wicked!" clapping and sipping kale smoothies rather than pointing at this gross oversight.
With the current trend in real life of knocking over old people in public I guess nobody really gives a crap about old people anymore.
The Rising Hawk (2019)
Something is wrong here
Why is this rated a 6? It's just horrible. I watched for the ratings and cast but I seem to have overlooked the cries from YouTube commenters. It's as if Russian mobsters funded this as a racket. Did they do the writing too?
Breaking Benjamin Live: The Homecoming (2007)
Sounds gr-r-r-r-eat!
One thing I like about the band is their ability to reproduce the album sound on stage which, judging by the album quality, is no easy feat. I if you watch their shows, you'll notice it. First thing I thought live was that their sound men really earn their keep. And this album is no exception.I usually cringe if I detect a bit of re edits in terms of sound but the work on this video is phenomenal. Plus you can watch it in HD from the comfort of your living room. Great live show period. I never hit the NEXT button through it all. Which is rare for me since I have A.D.D. in the worst possible way. The only thing lacking for me about the band is the unbalanced stage presence. I know Ben's like some good looking guy girls go cuckoo over but he's too nice. Like somebody who's a poster boy for a university leaflet. Ben resembles somebody who didn't get the part for the lead in Smallville because he couldn't exude anger. There. The band mates really sell the mood of the songs but Ben's still a nice guy, no matter how much he tries to act tough. What he lacks for in the rock attitude department, he makes up for in song quality. I don't know about you, but I think that's much preferable to me than if it was the other way around. Few people pull off both and they have become legends in the industry. As for Breaking Benjamin, I hope nothing but the best and can't wait to see how they evolve in the music industry especially in its current state today, but that's another story altogether.
