Bang Bang (2014)
Why Hrithik.....why this torture
One of the worst movie of this year. I don't understand why we waste talent like Hrithik in a movie like this. Sheer disappointment !!!!. It is such a disappointment to see mindless action sequences where money is wasted to a large extent and of no use. What do they want to portray. Knight & Day team would be thinking why we have given our rights to Siddarth Anand for directing. This 1 star goes to Hrithik only, otherwise, 0 would be an appropriate rating for a movie like Bang Bang Viewers won't be able to understand why they have come to watch a torture like this. To add with a long run time of more than 2 hr 30 mins makes this torture saga unbearable. Watch it at your own risk !!!!
Breaking Bad: Felina (2013)
Perfect End for a perfect series
Brilliant, amazing absolutely wonderful direction, screenplay and acting. Bryan Cranston and Vince Gilligan rocks. I have been watching this show for all these years and just amazed the way it has been handled. The final episode is like closing all the loops that show has created. The intention with which Walter White started cooking Meth for raising money for family has been completed. There were lot of speculations about this episode, but Vince direction has proved almost 80% people wrong. Brilliant. People who think that Breaking bad is slow paced and over-hyped, have to first understand what exactly direction and story telling is all about. It is a legacy that I will cherish forever.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013)
Brilliant Acting and Direction
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has got a long way to go in the history of Indian Cinema. There are not many movies made on real heroes and Milkha Singh is one of our real national hero. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is a real tribute to Flying Sikh of India. Right from the first frame till the last frame I as a viewer thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I am not a big fan of Farhan's acting but he has absolutely done wonders to this role. The kind of preparations he has done can be seen in every frame in which he was present. After Rang De Basanti Rakyesh Om Prakash Mehra has struck another gold and this time it is going to be remembered for a long long time. Sir Milkha Singh has said it correctly that Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has made him immortal. Must watch !!!!
The Avengers (2012)
A Marvel from Marvel
Absolutely Brilliant!!!!...not a single dull moment in this movie. Great to see Robert Downey Jr. after Sherlock Holmes...right on the button. He is having amazing sense of representing Tony Stark in the Iron Man franchise and now in The Avengers. Captain America, Thor were fabulous in this movie. The action was top notch. Scarlett was OK and I missed Edward Norton as Hulk although Mark has done an excellent job as Hulk especially with some of his interactions with other super heroes. I wish Hawk Eyes character would have been given better treatment. He was lost in the crowd of super heroes. All greats ensemble to form this wonderful movie. Go watch and enjoy all the super heroes of America!!!!
Agneepath (2012)
Disappointment written all over it !!!!!
Went to see this movie with exceeding expectations. The disappointment seeped in within the first 30 minutes of the movie and stuck with me throughout. The following are my observations 1. A tribute to the cult, with not an iota of stature and character, in itself is a bold attempt that fell flat on its face. If the movie was given a different name along with different character name, yet maintaining the "Tribute" gimmick, the torture would still be palpable. This was "AGNEEPATH" without any AGNEE(FIRE) 2. The projection of "Vijay Dinanath Chauhan" was a let down for me. As a viewer neither could I feel the fire of vengeance nor did my heart weep for "Vijay". The larger than life character did not come across as the "messiah", except for once when the voice-over tells that he donates his earnings to the poor. 3. Amateurish direction at the dinner sequence at his mother's place. Too melodramatic. 4. No powerful dialogues. Original "Agneepath" was an epitome of characterization and dialog delivery that made "Vija Dinanath Chauhan" immortal. This "Vijay Dinanath Chauhan" was easily forgettable. Sanjay Dutt's repetition of Bhagwad Gita's verse was just too much. 5. Rishi Kapoor as Rauf Lala was amazing. The actor knows how to make a difference even when the scope of the role is limited. Hats off to him.Sanju Baba, amazing personality and could have done wonders, but was underutilized.
