Stephanie (I) (2017)
Interesting Concept
10 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Out of all the movies I've seen that involve monsters and telepathic abilities, Stephanie had one of the most interesting concepts to it's story. It was really interesting how in the first half of the movie (here come the spoilers) that we see Stephanie alone, trying to take care of herself in a world ridden with Invasion of unknown species. I got the chills hearing the monster when Stephanie was in her blanket hideout that she made with a dining table and chairs.

However, there were parts of the movie that were a little too slow in my opinion. Those parts included when Stephanie was walking through the dark hallways and it took quite some time to create the scare scenes we were looking for. Yet, towards the end, the movie picked up the pace where Stephanie revealed herself as the true monster. This part though was quite sad because Stephanie turned on her parents.

All and all, the concept was very interesting, especially because of the fact that the main protagonist is a child, a child of peculiar character.

Crimson Peak (2015)
Stunning visuals and very interesting, riveting storyline
8 September 2018
This is one of the best movies I have ever watched in this year. As a huge fan of horror movies, I loved the way this movie presented the visuals as well as the presentation of characters. The concept was very riveting for me that I think would have great concept art for (if there isn't any already). Del Toro has done it again!

Edge of Your Seat Action!
29 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the best movies that I have ever watched that it is now on my top 10 favorites of movies! As a huge fan of storylines that involve Science Fiction and Population control, this movie gave me just what I wanted! First of all, I have to say that I loved how the movie centered around 7 sisters and how they have to survive from the government putting them to sleep. This is what I call a creative craft of a movie!

Warning: Spoilers below! The shocking thing here is that I couldn't believe that Monday was an antagonist the whole time. The entire movie, I'm wondering if the rest of the sisters will ever find Monday and thinking that the movie will end with taking down the corrupt government and all the sisters surviving somehow. I mean, what a twist!

As a heavy Netflix watcher, will recommend this movie all the way!

Moana (I) (2016)
Animation at its best! Now Officially one of my Favorite Movies!
29 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
As an individual double majoring in Computer Science and Creative Writing (with a focus on screenplays) I have to say that Moana was one of the best Disney Movies that I have ever watched! In fact, I was astonished by its storyline along with its animations that it became one of my favorite movies and ended up buying my own Moana doll for Christmas!

SPOILERS: In particular, I truly enjoyed the scenes where Moana gained the confidence to go out there and voyage into the sea even though her dad Tui wanted her to focus on being the chief for her people. The first time she went out didn't end so well (I was laughing so hard when Moana's Grandma said that whatever she did that she blamed in on the pig, Pua, which in fact, is one of the most adorable characters that Disney has ever created!), but I admire the confidence that she showed. This confidence showed me that we as individuals are truly individuals.

I also loved the scene where Maui was trying to turn into the Hawk when he and Moana were trying to get the hook from Tamatoa's shell. It was hilarious to see him turn from a fish, to a shark, then a chameleon etc, then finally back to his human form. It made it even funnier when Tamatoa was saying that Maui was having trouble with his look as he was singing "Shiny."

All and all, I can't think of anything wrong with this movie. This is one of the Disney Movies that I can watch over and over again!

Chained (I) (2012)
Excellent Storyline, But too slow in the middle
29 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This was an excellent movie to watch in that it showed us that we need to be careful who to trust. As an individual who is in the process of publishing her first screenplay, the storyline here gave me ideas on how I can show my audience on how characters behave when it comes to situations like those presented in this movie. For example, (warning, spoiler coming up!) towards the beginning of the movie (shortly after it said "Eight Weeks Earlier"), Jennifer Lynch illustrated right away to me that something was fishy with Rabbit's dad. The idea of taking a cab rather than taking the bus is fishy to me because Rabbit and his mom are alone in a cab with a driver that they don't even know, and to me, that is risky. In a bus, the two characters would be safer since there are a lot of people with them, lowering the risk for dangers like kidnapping.

I also mentioned in the title of this review that the movie started to become too slow towards the middle. In my opinion, I think that there should have been more scenes showing Rabbit trying to escape from captivity throughout the years instead of jumping from when Rabbit was eight years old to when he is about 18 years old.

Other than that, great movie and excellent storyline.

Gerald's Game (2017)
One of the Best Movies Based on a Stephen King Novel!
25 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I have just finished watching this movie, and I have to say, Stephen King, you've done it again!

I recently just finished reading the novel on Gerald's Game, and watching the movie shortly after gave me a visual of what I have just read in the book! I particularly loved how the entire dialogue of the movie created the same suspense that I felt as I read the book, especially in scenes that didn't have any ominous or suspenseful music.

Warning: the next paragraph contains a spoiler. Don't continue reading if you haven't watched the movie yet!

The ending of the movie was quite interesting as well. The whole time, I was lead to believe that the large monster looking guy was just some spirit called "death" that visited Jessie while she was still chained to the bed. But at the end, he turned out to be a real murderer which made my heart jump.

Overall, I cannot think of anything wrong this movie. Its a must watch for fans of horror and suspense!
