Dying to Be Heard (2013)
... then you will love this movie.
Are you a terrible person? Do you enjoy being lied to? Do you think heartbeats can exist without hearts? Are you in favor of lying to women? Have you lost all sense of propriety and honesty...
The Orville: Twice in a Lifetime (2022)
Gordon deserved better
This would have been a ten if Gordon was allowed to stay. I know this show can't do that. But this show needs to do what it needs to do. I'm sure they will visit this in the future.
Love, Death & Robots: Life Hutch (2021)
Not the best
All this episode made me do was want to watch bsg, and space: above and beyond.
Doctor Who: Orphan 55 (2020)
I liked it.
This is a normal Doctor Who episode. It is reminiscent of the traffic jam ep (sorry I don't have total Doctor Who recall). I guess people wanted excellence after the bang on 10 of the previous ep. The creatures look familiar (SPOILERS: don't watch Raised by wolves😜)
but I can't place them.
My only complaint is that the dome is way too small.
It's a fine Doctor Who episode, and fine is good enough for me. 🙂
The Wrong Missy (2020)
Yup, it's terrible.
This is a movie made by people who never left the nineties, but are super excited they get to use f-bombs at will. Don't watch it.
Star Trek: Discovery: Saints of Imperfection (2019)
I care
I care about their relationships. I care.
You don't care about the crews relationships? Then why watch the show? If it's not your Star Trek, watch the other many, many iterations of Star Trek.
This is Star Trek, at its core.
Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)
Any fan of the novel, or indeed cinema should definitely pass on this film.
Not only does this film bear only a slight resemblance to the novel of the same name, the movie is a terrible boor in and of itself. One wouldn't imagine a novel which has close to half a thousand pages and is a very satisfying read could be reduced to two hours and eight minutes of nothing. For the sake of those who may, to my dismay, desire to watch this movie I will not go into any great detail. However, turning each character into someone else on almost every occasion, as well as making some of them (perhaps unintentionally) sickly comedic was almost too much for me. I read the novel due to my love of vampiric lore, and forgetting about Dracula simply is not permissible. I was incredibly surprised by the power and wonder it held, as well as being extremely well written. I was very eager to watch this movie due to the fact that people have gone on and on about how it is the most faithful adaptation. I suppose if you compare it to the other movies which bear the name Dracula but have no resemblance, with the exception of a Romanian accent and blood sucking, that statement would be true, if not wildly inaccurate. I'm keeping this short so people will read it and not waste their time on this sad B-movie like interpretation of a wonderful novel. And if you have yet to, read the novel it is very good.
Gazon maudit (1995)
Very crazy movie
This movie starts of with a seemingly normal 'man cheats on woman-woman gets back at man' story. But as I kept watching it, this movie kept getting crazier and crazier. I am not sure if it is supposed to be a comedy, a tragedy, or just a drama. But I decided if I take it as a dark-ish comedy it will be better received. All and all Miss Abril did very well, as well as Mr. Chabat. The only loss in skill was from Miss Balasko, who was not very believable. But it was crazy and funny in a weird way. It was nice that it was only just over an hour and a half, cause the madness probably could not have gone on too much more. It is a decent way to spend an hour and a half, but once is enough.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Best movie I've seen in a while, incredibly moving experience.
Wow. Really, wow. I have just returned from the theater and am still moved by this experience. Kate Winslet has a performance which was so incredible I cannot put it into words. She grew on me so much I didn't want the movie to end. Jim Carrey finally masters the "normal" man role without sacrificing any of his inherent charm and humour. These two alone could have held the story together with no trouble at all. I would go out and see this again but, the theater is closed for the night. Don't worry if you have heard spoilers or think the trailer gives away too much. Even knowing bits and pieces, or indeed the whole story doesn't distract from this incredibly moving experience.
