Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee and Jessica Wongso (2023)
The Indonesian Legal System
In my opinion, whether Jessica is guilty or not, how could they truly know? Their legal system is so unfair and just plain strange!
In court, the accused is able to pass notes to a journalist, complementing her on her wardrobe.
Facial analysts brought in as expert witnesses, seriously?
The murder weapon was supposed to be cyanide, they never touched on that subject. Where would Jessica have obtained cyanide?
This documentary is interesting, but not really about the case, more about the justice system. I should say, the lack of a justice system.
How can anybody get a fair trial? I'll never go to Indonesia, that's for sure.
American Horror Story (2011)
Delicate Season
I have mostly loved the rest of the seasons, until Delicate. Besides the storyline dragging, I just can't look at Kim Kardashian's stone face. I also just can't listen to her emotionless attempt at acting. She should stick with, well, whatever else she does.
It's obvious to see that Anna's baby will be born, I think, strange or a demon. I'm getting the Rosemary's Baby vibe.
The writing implies that Anna's husband is untrustworthy. That goes back and forth through.
Unfortunately, after 5 episodes, I'm out.
I think that there's going to be at least a few more episodes.
I'm hoping that the quality of the show will improve.
The Last Tourist (2021)
I Couldn't Watch It
The first few scenes were interesting. It showed tourists spray painting on ancient walls, all of the trash that the tourists leave, but then moved on to the animals. Elephants been tied up with chains, orangutan's boxing in a ring with boxing gloves on, a man on the beach carrying a dolphin over his shoulder, I can't, I just can't. Anytime there are animals being hurt or mistreated, I'm out. These poor animals never asked for this. People suck!
The Witmans (2020)
Sad Denial
Sadly, these parents are in complete denial that their son killed his younger brother. In a way, I can certainly empathize. What parent wants to believe such a nightmare could ever occur, let alone in their own home? This may be the best way that they know how to handle their immense pain and carry on living.
I am going to judge their opinion and unfortunately, we didn't really get to hear or see all of the evidence. What we do see o the evidence though, is pretty damning.
This documentary is mostly about the parents and their feelings. Just tragic for everyone concerned.
I felt very uncomfortable watching this. Nothing interesting here, just the parents never ending mourning.
Held (2020)
Good twist, homely lead
Although I mostly liked this movie, the female lead was distracting to watch. She looked like she's in pain all of the time. She's very unattractive and unbelievable as the lead makes wife and the other mans girlfriend. 2 really good looking men and a old looking woman, who always looks like she's smelling something stinky.
The movie did hold my attention and I enjoyed the end. It's worth a watch, just try not to look at the woman's face too much.
Home (2015)
People Didn't Like?
This movie contained great life lessons. Many adults and kids could definitely learn from this movie. It's about stereotypes, empathy, understanding that we are all different but can still be friends, forgiveness, and more. Others complained about the graphics? You're spoiled! This movie had great messages that obviously some closed minded people couldn't understand. It's a fantastic movie for adults and kids alike.
The Bridge (2021)
Horrendous Acting
I read the description of this movie, it sounded interesting. The acting though, is just awful! I tried to give it a chance, but I just couldn't. There was no drama or horror, because I couldn't get past the characters and their lack of acting ability. It has a very cheap, cheesy feeling to it. The sound quality is really bad also.
Cats and Peachtopia (2018)
Super Cute Cat Movie
Don't pay attention to the parents whining about the violence. No animals are killed and the one dramatic scene, that they are referring to, the cat saves itself. These parents are so hyper sensitive and don't want their children to know anything about real life. It's okay for kids to feel sadness, worry, etc. This is a parents chance to talk to their kids about emotions. When these kids grow up, how are they going to know how to handle their emotions? Anyway, super cute, adventurous movie. The animation is great, the story is exciting and yes, the main kitten's mom died, but not during this storyline. They refer to her dying nd show a little scene about how she died. Everything else, has a happy outcome. My 6 and 9 year olds grandsons loved it and especially loved the happy ending.
Penny Dreadful (2006)
Annoying, terrified girl
I couldn't even get past 30 minutes of this movie. Penny Dreadful is dreadful. I get that she was traumatized and has an anxiety disorder but, watching this girl hyperventilating and paralyzed with fear, was so frustrating to me. I just couldn't watch her anymore.
