Paranoid (2016)
If cops would really be so incompetent and unfocused, they'd all be dead
So. I guess it's a feelgood series... I don't know, but it doesn't represent anything serious. Suresh is quite infantile and absolutely not professional at her job. She almost comes across as dumb. I really don't know what exactly she has contributed to the entire investigation... except for being the clown of the series. It's unprofessionalism galore. Cops not being able to contain their tempers, cops going off on their own like cowboys in the Wild West, cops discussing sex, being pregnant at the most inconvenient times... I felt it to be messy and weird. The storyline was pretty ok, and somehow it felt like they were trying to imitate Harlan Coben's style, but doing a poor job of it. I know for a fact that every single actor in that series is talented. They are not to blame for this poor storyline
The Sinner (2017)
Season 1 was superb until the end, than it totally flaked
So I was a captive audience for this series, until the second to last and last episode, the story just didn't add up at all. It felt like the moviemakers forgot what they had put in there in the beginning... 1) her parents distinctly say that Cora's sister died a month after she left, when talking to Bil Pullman... why? And the mother cared about one person only, Cora's sister, why wasn't she given up as missing, when Cora came back alone after two months? Why didn't her mother push her to find out where her sister was? These things are huge holes, that make it, that her sister having gone missing, couldn't simply have been forgotten, not by her, not by her parents or her aunt. It bugs me a lot and ruins the whole entire series.how did EVERYONE related to her conveniently forget about the deadly ill sister? And never mention that she disappeared never to be seen on that same weekend? Ridiculous
V-Wars (2019)
Well that could have gone better
I like the concept, but the way it's being played out is boring, uninventive and with a lot of overacting and bad acting. Swann is mister goody two shoes... more concerned about doing the right thing, than he is about the one thing that should actually be his passion, pathogenese, diseases etc. Has the picture perfect life and than boom it's destroyed. You'd think a person needs some time? But nah... neither does the kid, ... pretty sure most kids would eh... have severe trauma after seeing that? It goes downhill from there, having a civilian in the most ridiculous fbi police actions, doing ... well... nothing. Ridiculous reporter woman who doesn't seem to have a human feeling in her body and deals with the worst, uncaring cop ever... well sigh it sucks
The Stranger (2020)
It had some crucial faults I couldn't forgive
I loved it at first, found it compelling and thought it was awesome. As we got further into the series I started noticing some mistakes here and there. But the ending was the worst. I still enjoyed it for the most part. *** spoiler alert *** at the end the main character kills his friend/neighbour in the woods. I am clueless as to why his friend would take him to the hurried bodyboard his wife seeing how unstable and ARMED he was and than expect the man to FORGET about the murder of his wife and move on. The second part is the fact that a gun used at a crime scene just hours ago is used to kill his friend BUT to make sure people suspected that bad cop, as the killer of the neighbour in the woods, cop lady wipes down the prints of everyone who handled the gun and puts it back at the earlier scene to be found in a hole somewhere. What's wrong? 1 how the hell would that gun have gotten there, considering the cops stormed in whilst everything was going down? 1 person died, the other hospitalized and two arrested. But not only that somehow the gun got wiped down! And none of the CSI had found the gun the first round ( logically it wasn't there) but they never questioned that suddenly they do find it? Last but not least... during a post mortem t o d is determined, time and date. This guy had been busy since morning doing other stuff and than got arrested. No way EVER can they line up T O D with the time of death of the neighbour and frame the bad cop. PS I was also fairly certain killaney spoke of a son... than suddenly it's a daughter? I'm not denying transgender sex operations exist but if that happened wouldn't they mention it, and why would he call Crissy Rosie? So confused...
Messiah (2020)
It's hard to be intrigued these days, this did it.
I honestly didn't expect much when I started watching it, it was more out of lack of other possibilities that I decided to watch it. But it's an amazing series it's very well developed characters presented exemplary by the actors. Is is exactly how this world would react, the doubt, the utter belief, the abuse, the benefits, the conviction ... the manipulations. The mastery of the web woven, the casting of doubt and the art of facing yourself and others,. If it ends, it would be a good ending, but if they chose to continue they could. It's open and closed. The makers of this series are as politically astute as GRRM. Superb, well done, intriguing
FBI (2018)
How do good shows get cancelled and this renewed?
I have nothing against your average police procedural BUT:
This is not about the FBI... first of all... a missy goodytwo shoes like that wouldn't survive beyond two days in a cop environment.
It is really bad a procedure and if everything fell into place so nicely and perfectly in real life man, we'd be crime free. It was predictable and boring from the start ...
I gave it a chance, I saw 15 episodes because sometimes it takes time for characters to grow into their role. But this... this was simple all of the same every single episode ... bloody seventh Heaven in a cop environment.
The last one I saw made want to blow a gasket... the male chauvinism and the feminism in that episode was so blatant that all I did was get Christian angry by constantly rolling my eyes. No finesse whatsoever ... the boss' victory over the male profiler was just the cherry on top of the proverbial cake...
I wish everyone could write like Val Mcdermid sadly there is only one of her...
Ok back to the point , I was daydreaming...
It feels like this series was backed by the FBI to get an image spruce up... like I feel the church did with seventh heaven. Picture perfect solutions with picture perfect people .... putting the Trumps of the world behind bars... yep sure looks like every darn suspect is a some rip off of the current ( cannot be impeached) US president.
And what did they do, despite the horrible reviews? Pump money into a next season....
