Knives Out (2019)
What the actual f*$% this movie is great but grossly Average
Don't waste your time, unless your their to look at pretty actors on a pretty set deliver the most banal plot I've seen all year. Luxuriously edited to have no regard for my time, and boringly predictable. There were no actual red herrings besides the maid, and that late comer sibling. This all seems like a changed white savior tale. This is apparent by the ending. The female protagonist is put on a VERY high moral pedestal. And this film says ABSOLUTELY NOTHING original. It's quite frankly sad that this is in talks for best film.
Alto (2015)
It struck a chord!
This movie struck a special chord for me, its low budget, at times poorly acted and cheesy but the intimacy in the romance scenes is something I usually don't see in LGBT films. The encounters are unreplacable, and the mafia looming over the plot is cute. Its especially heart warming to see such nice simple things such the bathroom scene where Nicolette gazes at Frankie is adorable and just feels so sincere. It's those details that make this film such a 10, the intimacy.
