Blue Valentine (2010)
Just a rerun of most of the marriages you've ever witnessed
What was the point of this movie? I totally didn't get it. Not that I need to, just adding letters so IMDb will let me post. However if someone gets this movie and wants to share, open to it!
Clickbait (2021)
Ridiculous, but if you have time to kill?
Eh, ridiculous. Could be a good plot until you see the end. Lots of twists and turns like a soap opera to keep you interested. A good series to kill time.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Horrible waste of time
I only finished it cause I read a spoiler that the main character gets shot in the end. This plot line, story whatever you want to call it, is garbage.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Overated
I was really looking forward to this having LOVED Hill house but this didn't deliver at all. Too slow, too much story, get to the point. Snooze fest if you need help sleeping. I did love the casting though! Not anything I would consider watching again, I may have watched Hill House 3+ times.
Abducted in Plain Sight (2017)
Wow
I had never heard of this story prior to watching. I started it without paying really close attention then I heard the first shocker. A 12 yo girl left her house (with permission) with a man ~30 years her senior and then and not heard from for days. The parents never called the police, then they go direct to FBI. Maybe 1st WTF? thought. They could be dead in a ditch, nevermind ever thinking he's taking her to Mexico. After that they were continuous. I feel so sorry for everyone involved in this real life story, except 'B' of course. Poor Jan, failed by so many, how she was able to forgive her parents is unfathomable to me. Incredible story though, documentary well done, incredible bravery on all accounts by the family telling their story.
I give it a 9 and not a 10 cause it's actually not long enough. So many questions ... how is anyone this naive (parents)? What the heck was 'B's" wife thinking/doing protecting him? Not enough about B's family and his past, and also how was this allowed to happen? Was there any post-morteum by police officials or the church on how this could've been avoided/made to never happen again?
It's quite disturbing. I was getting into the story and then stepped back and thought ... what would my parents have done? I can seriously see my very mild mannered dad breaking B's legs if a 'B' asked him if he could go to sleep with his 12 yo daughter for 'therapy (and it went on for 6 months???). Having (thankfully) never been through this, who am I to say what anyone would do.
Definitely watch this.
You (2018)
Loved it!!
This kept me on the edge of my seat for all 10 episodes which i watched in ~2 days. I didn't give it a 10 only cause there are some pretty significant holes in the story, but then again, what movie doesn't have those? I am pretty forgiving in that regard, movies need them, takes too much time to explain away the holes. Just go with it.
The beginning when Beck is so dumb with relation to Peach was really annoying and made me almost stop watching as one of the main characters was so dense, had me questioning if worth continuing. I got past that hump and it was a great ride til the end. The acting is great, great casting.
Can't wait for season 2!
Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father (2008)
Absolutely heart wrenching
I had never heard of this story and I echo what other reviews have said. Don't investigate before watching this documentary. It is an amazing story that will have you both crying and shaking your fists in the air in rage. A true story showing some of the best sides of humanity and some of the worst. Not for the faint of heart. Absolutely heart breaking. Very well done. The Bagby's are the epitome of strength, I love this family and I have never met them. This documentary is something you will never forget.
The Passage (2019)
Awesome
I've read the trilogy 3 times. Best books I've ever read. Anyone who has read them knows there is absolutely no way to strictly adapt that into screen and make it good never mind great. This series follows the premise enough to know you are on the same ride but it has different twists and turns. Typically movies ruin the book's story. This is different and doesn't do that. I love it.
Oceans Rising (2017)
Fantastically bad
This movie is obviously supposed to be as bad as it is, which just makes it hysterical. I think pieces were filmed in someone's bathtub. The crew and actors must of had a blast making this movie. I couldn't imagine acting out any scene in this movie with a straight face, so kudos to the actors who could. So fantastically bad it makes it worth the watch, if you got time to kill.
