Fear the Walking Dead: Grotesque (2016)
Disappointing mid-season premiere
Seriously what was that?!
Being a big fan of TWD, I'm trying so hard to like Fear, but that's just not happening. Absolutely nothing big happened in this episode. It was boring, predictable, and terribly acted. I'm not attached to any of the characters on this show yet, so it was hard for me to watch this episode and root for Nick. This episode could've been 10 minutes long, but the writers just threw in random attacks towards Nick to try to stretch and intensify the episode, but it did not work. Literally half of the episode was Nick walking. What a disappointing mid-season premiere.
The Walking Dead: Last Day on Earth (2016)
A big slap in the face from the producers
As a fan of the comics, I've been awaiting Negan's entrance and the iconic scene from TWD comics since 2012. This was the moment that I feared AMC and the producers would screw up, and unfortunately they did. As a loyal viewer for the past 6 years, I feel insulted with the cheap cliffhanger that they left us with in this episode. All the hype was built up by the cast and crew throughout season 6B, saying that THIS 90 minute episode is the best episode of the show and it will redefine "finale", but it all just ended with a cliffhanger. By the time October comes around, all the fear, intensity, and emotional impact will be gone, and most of us won't care as much once we see who dies. This is probably the worst season finale that I've ever seen. On the bright side, Jeffrey Dean Morgan killed it as Negan, and Andrew Lincoln's performance was excellent along with other cast members, which is my reasoning for giving this episode a 2/10. I hate to say how angry and disappointed I am with the producers for making the choice of ruining the best comic book moment with a cheap cliffhanger. Either way, I'm sure we'll find out who dies when they start filming in May. They cannot possibly hide that until October.
