Stargate Origins: Catherine (2018)
Was excited but left a little confused
Low hanging fruit would have been to have Valla as the queen that they encounter to tie together the rest of SG1.
Don't like the recon with Catherine going through but ok.
Don't like the super similar parts to the Stargate movie.
Don't like the Catherine actor for the part. She's good but not the demeanor we are used to for Cathrine.
Love Connor Trineer bit not for this. He was already the Wraith.
Mostly am not in like with this because it's so glossy and different. That's not a bad thing in of itself and for what I know about the production it's actually a great feat. Very low budget and many volunteers on board. A very hard task but they did it.
Well done to the makers but sadly falls short of the expectations of fans. Interesting and liked going back to the Stargate though.
Don't Worry Darling (2022)
Unexpected and satisfying
I didn't know much about this film other than the scandals and press conference stuff.
What started off as a pretty, plastic drama, slowly becomes a traumatic psychological quagmire. The ending, while not done amazingly, is done well enough and most people in my screening gasped or audibly said things like "oh my god" it wasn't really expected.
I think the subject matter is important and apt for this day and age, as it's clearly a problem online if you read reddit etc. I think it could have commented on it further or made a better example of it but I can see how as an art piece, it was left intentionally vague and unending. Which I was at peace with.
I enjoyed it and I would ask people to approach it with an open mind.
Famous in Love (2017)
Hilariously juvenile
Look, I'm binging this and it's oddly enjoyable, despite the fact that A. Not realistic, B. The kiddie fights and indignation are hilarious (it's like it was written by a teenager) and C. The cast are not charismatic.
It would have been great if they'd worked on the script and acting seriously - funnily enough.. Like what the show is about.
Guilty pleasure!
