Downhill rapidly...
27 September 2022
I'm trying to watch it, but it's so bad on so many levels, as a hardcore fan of the Comics & Marvel in general, this is scraping the barrel.

CGi is awful, lip-sync is out whenever She-Hulk talks, the jokes are bad, the writing is worse, a whole episode about copyrights, come on!!

Where's the action? The Comics from the past provide so many fantastic stories written by people who cared for the industry, this is quite frankly embarassing & as the weeks go by it's not getting any better, as per many other fans out there I'm only really watching as a Marvel fan who has watched everything else and the hope we get a Daredevil tie in.

Marvel trying too hard, give it a Miss!
26 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
You can normally tell after a few episodes what it's going to be like, but this from Marvel/Disney is just aimed at kids.

I've read the comics which are way better, Marvel tried to put a spin on it and make it like a Bollywod show or something.

Childish and a pretty lame story adaption, a Pakistani girl gets her powers from an ancient race through an amulet? This was not how she got her powers at all in the comic true story, and her powers are pretty lame too, she wouldn't last 5mins in the Avengers team, wouldn't even get an invite.

Yes it's only 6 episodes long and some of it is pretty hard to keep you entertained enough to get to the end, with so many series that they got pretty right, Loki, Hawkeye, WandaVision etc. This is a letdown!

Spagetti Hoops.
7 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Another painfully slow episode, highlight is some of the survivours go in search for some tinned Spagetti Hoops.

Gabriel Byrne's character is walking around with a Robo-Dog in a shopping trolley, his wife shot one in a previous episode, they meet a few other survivours and try and figure out what makes them tick.

Slow going, will it ever pick up?
6 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Really slow going episode, as are all the others to be fair, you just want to keep watching to give it a chance.

It's one of those series you can quite easily do something else and have this on in the background and not miss that much, people wandering round aimlessly, a girl who's blind and get's her sight back and looses it again periodicly, boring Robo-Dogs who look like something out of 'Toys R Us' and backed up by CGI from the 90's.

These Robotic alien dogs seem to like taking head shots at people, yet nobody seems to wear any head protection, even the military are dumb.

You could quite easily cut 5mins from each episode and just make one from it all, thus cutting out the slow storyline, so little action it is pretty lame.

Eternals (2021)

Slow going, could have been much better.
18 January 2022
Sitting through 'The Eternals' is a pretty dull affair, nothing really happens for most of the movie apart from a few fights with some CGI monsters 'Deviants' we are meant to believe, throw in a few jumps through history and the 7,000 years this group have meant to be around on our Earth without interfering in our evolution? I find that hard to believe!

The plot is kind of ok but plods along at such a slow pace it's hard to keep your attention span for too long, add in a few corny accents and acters who you can't quite connect with and you end up with a pretty average Marvel film.

I read a few reviews that gave it such high scores, and a few Marvel fans were putting this in their top 10 from the franchise. It's one to watch if you're a Marvel fan and want to stay in the loop, but be prepared for the bad jokes and a long drawn out movie that has little to offer.

Nonsensical Stories.
25 December 2021
The stories are nothing new and have all been done better along the way by other shows, these may just about appeal to kids of ten and below, the acting is pretty dire too.

I'm not sure why the Disney brand would make this kind of Cringe, but i guess all the big hitters are making so much to fill their channel, you will end up with rsome rubbish along the way!

Quivering Quasars..!
16 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ulysses and the crew of the Odyssey encounter strange electromagnetic interference which overcomes their ship. Shortly afterwards they find out that the crew are starting to awake out of thier slumber.

Ulysses, Telemachus, Nono & Yumi must now battle the crew who appear to be under some kind of outside force which has made them want to fight each other.

Obviously a cruel trick by the Gods, Yumi tries to calm down her brother using her telepathic link, but she can't keep it going for too long, also a strange ship controlled by the Gods launches ships to attack the Odyssey, Ulysses has to launch his own small ship to do battle with them, I thought this was a great series when I was a kid, and it's still watchable now.

Ulysses saves the day and breaks the spell, and all the crew return to their trance like state, inflicted on them by the Gods.

Times Square Hulk Out.
27 May 2021
I always remember watching 'The Incredible Hulk' back when I was a kid and think it was a terrific show, mainly because there wasn't much to watch on TV then, we all looked forward to the show each week.

Looking over the shows now and you can find so many flaws in the character as we've all been subjected to the MCU and we all know Hulks powers.

As for this episode it's not one of the best, apart from the location the story is fairly weak as David works in an Arcade and the owner has trouble with the local heavy who wants extortion money fromall the local residents.

In steps David who trys to help out and get some evidence on the local bad guy , he's on his way to stop something bad from happening and gets stuck in traffic, this makes him mad and he Hulks out in Times Square, they seem to run out of good ideas for the reason behind the transformations.

An average episode in my opinion with a good backdrop of Times Square.

Dark Cap shows his true colours.
10 April 2021
By far the best episode yet, there's a great fight scene with John Walker & the Dora Milaje who embarass him with their fighting skills, you see the human side of Falcon as he tries to get through to Karli, and the end scene is like Wow... Cap's gone Dark?

Can't wait for the next episode.

So Disappointing.
28 December 2020
After reading a few reviews in the press I was kind of looking forward to see what the 'WW' franchise had dished out, as many critics were giving it high marks 4-5 stars. After watching this way too long movie I was disappointed, virtually nothing happens for half the film, and the writing and script is just bad. Expect lots of frowning from 'Gal Gadot' and a really poor baddie whose power is granting wishes, c'mon!! At least the first movie was kind of unique for a female lead role with powers and was watchable even though the bad guy in that was kind of lame too, at least the setting of World War I era was engaging, but this movie is too long and so full of plot holes and continuity errors, how could they get this one so wrong?

Had potential but such slow going.
21 December 2020
I watched the 1st season which isn't too bad, a group of teens with shady parents who are into some kind of cult? Some of the kids display powers and abilities, powers are pretty lame to be fair. The story plods along and finally they all runaway at the end, season 2 is worse as they find an abandoned home up in the hills but don't actually do much in each episode, like i said the series has potential but it's like other Marvel series that don't follow the comics and have weak writers and stories.

Man against Machines
2 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Not one of the better episodes this one, but it has a few amusing scenes. Bartlett Finchley is angry with his everyday appliances, from the electric razor - to the 1939 Aston Martin Lagonda Coupe he has parked outside. Why I'm not sure, it seems like anything mechanical is out to get him. There's a few funny moments like the electric razor is pulled down the stairs after him with a piece of line, and the car that comes after him is meant to be driving itself, but you can clearly see a driver inside. I'm not quite sure if this episode was meant to be a little scary, but most of it is pretty funny.

25 May 2020
Gone are the leading star's abilities to transport herself, she hasn't gone anywhere in around 4 episodes, this is just your average episode done in a kind of dream like state, oh 'Henry' had a seizure and is dreaming in a coma in hospital, c'mon writers wake up!

Really poor writing.
25 May 2020
Gone has the story about a young woman who can teleport, highlights of this episode are basically a re-run of the last episode but in segments, 'Henry' throws a stone through a window and they have a dinner party, please let's get back to the main story.

OK the first few episodes showed a bit of promise, but the highlight of this episode was 'Henry' meeting up with her old boyfriend and going to do some graffiti. I hope the show starts to improve.

It's slow going...
25 May 2020
I started watching this series which started pretty well, although this episode was pretty slow going, there's not much going on with the storyline apart from Henry transporting to an old house she used to live in when she was younger, as per the other review I'm not sure how an episode with very little going on gets a 7.5, the show has some good idea's which just need to get going. Hopefully Henrietta will start getting a grip on her powers and the story will get into a little bit more action than selling cars and jumping into a closet.

Corny 50's sci-fi flick
22 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie comes in at he end of the 50's (1959), it's a typical B movie with some funny moments along the way. John Carradine appears at the beginning in a lab explosion, then aliens take over his body and he is like their puppet, but he is invisible and can make himself visible again to you when he wants a chat. The aliens want to take over the world by inhabiting dead humans who will take out the living, kind of like 'The Living Dead' all wandering around in suits. There's some funny scenes and science along the way - like the plane that crashes into a hill with a giant X marks the spot - and the zombiefied guy who walks into the puddle so they can plaster cast him. Then they invent a gun which looks like it was knocked up in a woodwork class, that turns the zombie into a piles of soap bubbles. Some corny monotone lines and wires holding things up are all part of the fun in these old films, it's good fun if you don't take it too seriously.

Low on budget, Low on thrills.
18 May 2020
I watched it as I quite like an unknown movie with anything alien in it, this is a British film shot in the U.K. in some rural area. Camera work is not too bad and the alien creatures are just about ok CGI, the story goes by way of a local Policewoman and her fellow officers start getting a few strange reports of suicide in the local area, upon investigating they see some form of alien robot type creatures, think small versions of 'War of the Worlds' small robotic things on legs. Not much in the way of story or acting, dialogue is pretty vague too, and a bit too much swearing. Basically they help a few locals out and avoid the creatures, acquire a shotgun and hope that saves you until the end of the movie. The music score was pretty good, not one of the best alien movie's I've seen, but not the worst.

It's all gone a bit off plot...!
16 May 2020
The first season wasn't too bad, but so far this second season is just dragging it's heels and gone completely off plot! The Asteroid part of the story seems like a distant memory and has gone right into the background, we now seem to be watching something like 'Jack Bauer' in '24' or 'Olympus has Fallen', both did the story better and with plenty of action. Please can we stop all this political nonsense and running around in car parks and get back to the main story.

Shoddy writing..
10 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Come on, did the crew learn nothing from a few episodes ago where they brought a virus on board? Now they go to a new planet to find food where they don't have special suits on, they go around tasting, smelling, and picking up any living thing they can find. Where did Netflix get these writers from?

When in doubt, stick in a dream episode.
10 May 2020
I've seen so many sci-fi shows, some good and some bad, this show I gave a chance to see if it could get better, it's not by the way. So many options for a decent story, something fresh and new perhaps? No they stick in a dream sequence episode, or is it a dream within a dream?, just an episode filler to be fair, when are we going to get some real action?

It's all been done better.
10 May 2020
After seeing this was a Netflix series I thought I'd give it a go, usually you get a pretty good opening episode, but this one is fairly dull. An ancient alien artifact turns up on Earth and just sits there, so we decide to go across the galaxy to find them or get some answers, meanwhile there's a team trying to figure out what this thing is back on Earth. The characters are an odd bunch of 20 somethings who have no uniform or no apparent respect for the chain of command. It's hard to connect with any of the characters so far, only (Katee Sackhoff) seems fairly likeable, there's some bad writing and sketchy science along the way. Only episode one watched, let's hope it gets better.

Reborn..? New haircuts, new Baddie, just about watchable.
22 April 2020
After all the climax of season 3 with 'Savitar' we've seen our fair share of bad guys, 'Reverse Flash', 'Zoom' then the one we never saw coming in future Barry as 'Savitar'. Ok I get he's been away for 6 months, but suddenly Iris is in charge of 'Team Flash' ?, Wally has a new haicut, Caitlin works in a bar, and they get Barry out of the Speedforce way to easily, he's babbling a load of nonsense and sporting a beard and longer hair, it seems the writing team are running out of ideas as the stories get weaker each season, I will keep watching but this wasn't a great start to a new season.

Underwater (2020)
3/10
Damp Squid of a Movie.
2 April 2020
The acting is awful in this movie as I was expecting a bit more quality, poor characters too throughout the movie. The storyline sounds like it may turn into a decent film set deep in the Mariana Trench, I can only remember 'The Abyss' with a similar story. It reminded me of the awful 'AVP Requiem' another movie that was very hard to see what was going on, as these 2 films are similar as it's so dark and murky throughout you find it hard to actually see much of what is happening. With the catastrophic failure of the station at the very beginning, there's not much else for the characters to do apart from heavy breathing, getting in and out of diving suits and pressing buttons. With the amount of money spent on this movie, estimated around $80,000,000! I expected a lot more, even Kirsten Stewart wandering around in underwear for half the film can't save it.
