Nefarious (2023)
Evil is all around us
The guy who plays Nefarious deserves an Oscar! What a performance. He gave me chills with his realistic portrayal of the demon, unlike other exorcist movies. This movie will have you question your entire life choices. What is good and what is evil? Do you have a framework to know what's evil? How do you know if what you did was good? If you're atheist you're gonna be pondering your life decisions. If you're Christian, you're gonna be praying your sins away. There is evil all around us and it tempts us every single day without us realizing it. Sometimes we tell ourselves that we don't have a choice, but we actually do have choices. Sometimes we end up making excuses for our bad choices. It's definitely a must see film regardless if you're religious or not.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Exceeds all expectations
It's usually almost impossible to top the OG films, but this sequel managed to do just that. I found Top Gun Maverick to be significantly better than the original film! That final act had me at the edge of my seat. I was not expecting dogfighting to be so damn intense. I would give this movie a 10/10 masterpiece instant classic.
Prey (2022)
Predator returns to form
A surprising prequel to one of the best villains of all times. I love the jungle setting and native American story. Earth hunters going up against an alien predator. Very entertaining to say the least. Some folks would accuse this movie of being woke but I don't see how it's woke. The female character held her own based on her own merits. She didn't have to condescend men or say anything to make it seem like it was woke. Overall I enjoyed the hell out of this movie.
The Terminal List (2022)
Best action series in a long time
This is the best action series I've seen since 24. Great story, great acting, great chemistry, great characters, heart pounding action sequence. What more do you want?
What Is a Woman? (2022)
Much needed documentary
It's a strange time we live in where everything is backwards and confusing. This documentary brings clarity and exposure of the insane leftist woke agenda. Thank you Matt Walsh for fighting the good fight.
The Outfit (2022)
Masterpiece mobster film
This is a single location movie and it was shot with perfection. Mark Rylance was the star of the show and he had me hooked with his performance. There was twist after twist. By the end I said to myself "damn I wouldn't want to mess with this tailor, sorry, I meant cutter".
The Silent Sea (2021)
Flawed but entertaining
This series felt alot like Prometheus. The science in this is flawed. It's more fantasy than science fiction. Having earth-like gravity on a moon base? Really? But if you're able to cast aside the flaws and just enjoy the suspenseful story then it's all good. It kepted me hooked the entire time so I'll at least give it a 7/10.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Twilight is a better love story
They ruined the franchise with this 4th installment. It felt like a B grade straight to dvd movie. The action broke immersion, terrible acting, bad story. Even Twilight has a better love story than this trash.
True Story (2021)
An unexpected gem
I never knew Kevin Hart was this good at acting. I've only ever seen him do comedy movies so I wasn't sure if I could take him seriously in this series. But his performance blew me away. Engaging dialogue and kept me in suspense. This series will grip you until the very end. Just when you think you have a moment of relief it hits you with another gut wrenching moment. I'm looking forward to seeing Kevin Hart in more serious roles.
Jiok (2021)
Hooked me and can't wait for season 2
This series shows us how humans can be easily manipulated by religious leaders. What really got me excited for the next season is that shocking twist though. The plot thickens! You'd have to see it for yourself because I don't want to spoil it.
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
His jokes are funny because they're true.
Dave Chappelle did it again. He released another god damn masterpiece, and all the crazy libtards are offended as usual. Dude they're just jokes. Chillax. I had a blast watching this special.
Midnight Mass (2021)
Thought provoking masterpiece
This is mainly a religious drama with some horror elements. It can feel slow but it does well with thought provoking dialogue and character development. Don't expect jump scares or haunted house type stuff. It's story driven and it is well worth your time.
Malignant (2021)
James Wan Masterpiece
This isn't your typical haunted house horror movie. It's not cliche. It's unique as hell and I don't think anyone has ever done a movie like this before. The twist was one of the best in my opinion. I never saw it coming! The action scenes were so cool that it almost felt like a John Wick movie. Dude I had so much fun watching this.
Sigeuneol (2016)
Masterpiece K-thriller
It's a goddamn masterpiece. Just watch it and thank me later.
Blood Red Sky (2021)
One of the best vampire flick
This is one of the top 10 vampire movies in my list. Don't listen to the stupid critics and just watch it without any expectations. Just enjoy the thrill ride. I hope they expand on this universe with another sequel.
A Quiet Place Part II (2020)
Needs to be watched on big screen.
It was intense AF. It had me clenching my teeth throughout the movie. Definitely lives up to the hype. You have to see it in theaters to get the full experience or you are missing out. Trust me on this one.
Torden (2020)
Not your usual superpower movie
This is unlike any superhero movie I've seen. The story had me shook! Please make a sequel!
Army of the Dead (2021)
Fun ride but not for snowflakes
It was a good movie overall. Love the addition of alphas to the zombie genre. The only thing I didn't like was one character in the movie but that shouldn't make me give this movie a bad rating. I still enjoyed it regardless. All the people giving it bad reviews just because of one character are snowflakes.
Money, Explained (2021)
Starts good until leftist agenda ruined it
Started out good until the last few episodes where they push for a leftist agenda. They suggest you rely on the federal government to hold your hand your entire life. The part that was appalling was the part they suggested there should be a mandatory retirement tax as if the social security tax wasn't even enough. They think you're too stupid to save money so they want the government to force it on you. Instead of resorting to such commie tactics, why not just educate students about financial literacy in public schools. Teach kids about the various retirement accounts, stock market, real estate, investments, compound interests, etc. This way kids will grow up being financially literate and will be able to make informed decisions to become financially independent.
Invincible (2021)
Masterpiece anime for adults
It's like The Boys meets The Justice League and more. I was hooked by the shocking twist on the first episode. I just love how this anime keeps me in shock throughout every episode. It's not for children, strictly for adults. Your children will be traumatized watching this so keep them away.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
Dead movie becomes a masterpiece
I had my doubts about the Snyder cut but after watching 4 hours, my doubts are gone. Even though it was a lengthy movie the time went by fast because of how engaging and intense the scenes were. Now I want a sequel and if Zack Snyder isn't directing then I ain't watching. In Snyder we trust.
Hanna (2019)
Slow burn action tear-jerker
Season 1 was a slow burn masterpiece. Season 2 has more action and the storyline kept me on the edge of my seat. Amazing character development and chemistry between characters. Especially the chemistry between Hanna and her father Erik. It had me in tears by the end of both seasons. I can't wait for season 3. And don't even compare this to the movie. The series is on a whole other level.
Joker (2019)
Masterpiece. Best Joker adaptation.
This movie is a study on mental illness. It brings awareness about problems in society. Not giving anything else away. You'd have to see it to believe it. Joaquin Phoenix exceeded my expectations. His Joker has surpassed Heath Ledger's version in my opinion.
Kingdom (2019)
Game of Thrones meets The Walking Dead but with a twist!
This is the best Korean series on Netflix by far. It kept me on the edge of my seat in each episode. The zombies in this series is much different from what you see in Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead so it feels fresh. The political struggle and the fight against zombies makes it absolutely intense. Some of the scenes were riveting. I can't wait for season 2.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
The BEST horror series of all time.
I don't care what anyone says. This has to be the best horror series of all time. Atmospheric, creepy, shocking, chilling, beautiful, and despair are some of the words I can use to describe this series. There is one episode that kept me in complete shock even after I went to bed. I even cried in sadness at some scenes. Mike Flanagan really outdid himself this time.
