A Discovery of Witches (2018)
Great representation
Beautifully produced. I read the books first and was so impressed by this series. The character development is spot on n acted superbly by the cast. Kudos to the casting agent. Also the direction makes it even more splendid. I just wish for more, although it's representation captures the trilogy perfectly. It's beautiful to watch, with each season more intriguing than the last. Great locations and cinematic filmmaking. The principals are brilliant in their ability to convey the richness the book delivered. In particular Harkness's character evolves from naïveté to being the strongest power of all. Fabulous. A sequel or spin off ....please!!
Love, Victor (2020)
Refreshingly relevant
I wish we had this series when I was in high school.
Well acted & written. Also, like the diversity regarding race.
I hope other kids coming out young have this in their lives.
I'm an old dude but glad there's Love, Victor.
Little Fires Everywhere (2020)
An acting marvel!!
This limited drama series explores the insecurity between the female psyche. This message is wonderfully acted by Witherspoon and Washington. The disparity between upper and lower class, race & sexuality are strongly displayed by both actors. Witherspoon, the typical, white housewife whose need to convince herself of her self aggrandizement is portrayed perfectly. You almost want to slap or shake her awake! Washington, plays the yang of the two. Darker, deeply felt as almost a wound that won't heal. Her pain is achingly real. Truly award winning performances!!
Family (2018)
Editing
Doesn't anybody pay attention to the editing?? This light comedy could be a winner. The acting is comedic perfection. Unfortunately, it's out of sequence. I'm sure it's there in the rushes, but the editing is just off. It's like so many other films that are rushed to meet budget. Too bad... because the actors provide quality work. Good try.....once again.
