The Baby-Sitters Club (1990)
childhood favourite
i think this show is great, in a childish (well it is for kids), silly way. this used to be one of my favourite shows when i was little as i also loved the books of the bsc too. my fave character was claudia, i used to think the actress playing her was so pretty. now she looks too old to be 13, and so does dawn.
the girl playing dawn was so annoying.her voice grated on the nerves, esp. during the episode where she tries to save the planet (it was funny seeing zach braff in that episode , he looks so different) the actor who played kristy was really good. just how i imagined kristy, bossy, loud, obnoxious....
all in all this series was okay. great back when i was a kid but now is pretty dated and some of the acting is a bit wooden. also i didn't like the mary anne. she was too tall and whined a lot. i think that stacey was the best actor after kristy, she was really good. jessi was pretty great too.
Josie and the Pussycats (2001)
I love Rosario Dawson
Far and away the best thing for me in this film is Rosario Dawson as Valerie. She is the coolest actress around and brought spunk to the film. The film itself is ok, not good, not bad but the plot was boring and all the stuff about subliminal messaging and advertising was just trying to in some way try to expose the celebrity and hollywood machine just a tad too much. Go Rosario
Ghost World (2001)
thora birch
i liked this movie, it was something different, something new and i totally loved Thora Birch( one of the coolest actresses around) as the protaganist. The only thing that was lacking was the ending, i found it too symbolic, because it was saying that enids life had not yet begun and her getting on the bus was the start of her life- meh. Besides that i gave the film a seven. Scarlett Johanssen also is pretty cool.
Parenthood (1989)
this film is so touching
i like this film because although at times it seems a little ridiculous, over all it is sweet and touching. Being a parent is not easy and we see this through the eyes of the characters in the film. My favourites were Steve Martin, Diane Wiest, Keanu Reeves and Joaquin Phoenix ( looking very different from the way he is today) I could have done without Rick Moranis as a pressuring jerk but i guess it justs adds to the story. Tom Hulce also stars as an irresponsilbe father and his kid Cool is so cute. Tom hulce looks very different from his Amadeus days.
